From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A tag has been placed on Highlander (Dynamite Entertainment) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:HighlanderWOTS1.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. STBotI (talk) 18:05, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the kind words on my talk page as well as your help with the Highlander: The Game article. It's exciting to see something I created grow and prosper =). Xenocidic (talk) 06:05, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed your speedy deletion tag from the article- there are a good few bluelink bands there, so I wouldn't want to speedy it. Feel free to take it to AfD. J Milburn (talk) 19:12, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Highlander (Dynamite Entertainment)

[edit]

I have nominated Highlander (Dynamite Entertainment), an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Highlander (Dynamite Entertainment). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Thank you

[edit]

Aw, thank you, you shouldn't have :D Do you know it's my very first award ? As this one usually goes to people with a lot of GAs, I guess I'll just have to write some to fully deserve it ! As for your question, The Source hasn't been aired in my area yet, so I'll have to get the DVD to hear those. And don't worry for the Highlander (Dynamite Entertainment) AFD, I think we control the situation now. Thank you again for the award, I am totally proud of it ! Help is Here

[edit]

Hello I am User Swirlex. I saw the message you left on the Wikiproject awards talk page. I have come to help you get a Barnstar for your Wikiproject. First answer these questions, some of them may seem absurd.

  1. Is their a symbol for Highlander?
  2. Is their a certain color that represents it?
  3. Do you have a specific design in mind? (I haven't figured out how to upload images so I will be using a different method to help you.)
  4. Is Highlander a movie, comic, book etc.

Hope this will help! Please reply back on my talk page. Swirlex (talk) 17:39, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm on it. Your Barnstar will hopefully be coming soon.Swirlex (talk) 18:22, 9 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Colinmacleod2.JPG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Colinmacleod2.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. You are right about that POV tag. Dman727 is one of those right wingers who wants the whole article deleted, so just its existence is POV to him. :)Giovanni33 (talk) 19:18, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Harley

[edit]

I'll take another look at the article. As it was when I put up the tag the article was full of point of view, as I noted by giving specific examples of laudatory language found throughout the article that I placed in the talk section of the article. Yes, I think that motorcycles are death machines. I saw a person have his head cut off last summer on Highway 67 in Wisconsin. His head, in helmet, rolled down the road in a different direction than his motorcycle after he went under a semi tractor. I have represented dozens of "enthusiasts" who were critically injured and permanently disabled in accidents that would have been fender benders (or no accident at all) in a car. That said, I only want the article to be neutral, not with my bias and not with a pro-Harley bias. As the article stood when I placed the tag it was little more than a Harley company portal and a fan site. David Traver (talk) 13:13, 21 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please cease and desist from removing the Notability cleanup template without reasonable justification

[edit]

Please cease and desist from removing the Notability cleanup template from article Fiendish Codex II: Tyrants of the Nine Hells, an article which has no reliable secondary sources to provide evidence of notability. There is no reasonable justification for removing the cleanup template which was put there to address this problem. Claims of notability must adhere to Wikipedia's policy on verifiability; it is not enough to simply assert that a book meets a criterion without substantiating that claim with reliable sources. The reason why I ask you to do this in the strongest possible terms is that you appear to be asserting notability without providing any evidence, as your explanation for removing the template ('"been thru the not tag before, survived" [1]). This explaination is not supported by the guidelines WP:BK and WP:RS which apply to this topic. Unless you adding real-world content from reliable secondary sources to the article, I would be grateful if you would restore the template and refrain from removing it unless you have added reliable secondary sources. The template was placed there to alert other editors who may be able to add such sources, and so its removal is actually self-defeating. I would suggest in future that you discuss the removal of cleanup templates on the article's discussion page so that misunderstandings do not occur in the future.--Gavin Collins (talk) 08:57, 23 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

3RR warning

[edit]
Warning
Warning

Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly, as you are doing at Allegations of state terrorism by the United States. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Rather than reverting, discuss disputed changes on the talk page. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. Thank you. John Smith's (talk) 20:25, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I know you're a busy editor so you may not have got a chance to read into the Allegations page. But we're actually currently waiting on a Third Option Wikipedian to come in to make a decision, and the revert was because someone came in and changed it while we we're waiting. Just trying to maintain the status quo until we have a consensus, especially on such a volatile topic as that. Just for some more information. If even doing that is incorrect, I'll note it.
I have read the page. But in any case if you keep reverting you will be blocked. Just because you disagree with an edit does not mean you can revert it. The rules apply to everyone. John Smith's (talk) 20:29, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It isn't necessarilly that I disagree, I actually agree alot with changing it so that it isn't as biased as it is, which is on the talk. Its just that the editor in question never brought it up as he had said, and he could of read that a agreement was reached to hold off until we had a third party see it. But I understand what you're saying, and no problem. Hooper (talk) 20:30, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

3RR

[edit]

I have moved the material. You seem to have violated the 3RR rule. Please self-revert your last revert.Ultramarine (talk) 22:30, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The rule was not violated, but I do like the new section at the main page. Lets see how the rest of that community feels and we'll stripe it back down. Hooper (talk) 22:37, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Reverts

[edit]

Re [2]. Your edit summary is odd. It is qithout question a revert, within the meaning as used for WP:3RR. By my count, you have 4R on the article over the past 12h. I suggest you consider self-reverting William M. Connolley (talk) 22:55, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, I see JS had already warned you. Well I've reported you at WP:AN3 William M. Connolley (talk) 23:19, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sure you have, and you didn't bother to mention that no 3 of those reverts were on the same issue or that you reverted the exact same thing 3 times within 20 mins with another editor. Sure you included that information. I'm confident in my actions. Hooper (talk) 03:50, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I think the reviewing admin made the wrong decision. You made 4 reverts (that they were on different issues is utterly irrelevant). You had previously been warned. You should have been blocked William M. Connolley (talk) 07:17, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
But I wasn't, and I wasn't for a very good reason. An outside administrator made that reason. Disagree all you want, we've moved on. You made just as many reverts, actually more, on that article, so by your own assessment you would have been blocked as well. Hooper (talk) 17:48, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Weasel words in State terrorism

[edit]

Japan section is full of it, and that's without even reading the text in detail. Probably contains some synthesis violations too. Sceptre (talk) 09:19, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You're POV and previous failed AfD attempt may be pushing your thought. A group consensus was met earlier on Japan and the section will stay that way until you bring up an example of change or problem, instead of just complaints. Hooper (talk) 13:06, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You can't make a consensus to ignore NPOV. NPOV is non-negotiable. Sceptre (talk) 13:31, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
There is a sandbox you can attempt to participate in where you can show your view of what the Japan section should look like. Also it does make it easier for everyone if you highlight in detail your complaints, much like Ultra does so they can be addressed individually. Saying "there is a problem on this planet" does not really help draw people to assist in helping fix it. --I Write Stuff (talk) 17:51, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't make the consensus, everyone on the talk page did. Check there. Hooper (talk) 14:04, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Warning

[edit]

The contents of your sandbox which I recently deleted were absolutely heinous. Keeping a "list of Wikipedians who appear to be making bad faith edits, spreading disinformation, [and] pushing an agenda" who "have a bigger stick up their butt" is unseemly and the antithesis of fostering a collegial environment. Please note that if you repeat such behavior in the future, you'll likely be blocked for disruption. east.718 at 21:26, April 26, 2008

The note on "bigger stick in butt" was about me sir, you should have read it better. The information is cataloged off site so as to not upset anyone who could be offended. Hooper (talk) 21:27, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Maintaining a list of evidence in preparation for dispute resolution (such as this page for a forthcoming RFC) is acceptable. A laundry list of attacks against individual editors isn't. east.718 at 21:49, April 26, 2008
I didn't mean for it to be perceived as attacks (which is why it had the long, bold warning), just reference for personal use. But understood. Hooper (talk) 21:51, 26 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your kinds words, I really appreciate them on a Monday morning :D Well, there's still a week to go, so let's keep our fingers crossed, but I honestly believe in a positive outcome. Have a nice day, Rosenknospe (talk) 09:12, 28 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

List of zombie-themed songs and bands

[edit]

Hi,

While I largely agree with the sentiment which you expressed, the article does not technically qualify for speedy deletion as patent nonsense and any such deletion would probably be overturned at deletion review. So, I have removed the speedy deletion notice. Since the article was previously deleted via WP:PROD and restored, I'll initiate a deletion nomination for it.
