why the block?

[edit]

Could somebody please cite where I violated 3RR. I was warned and stopped! And why didn't anybody post a note here or give me space to reply? Hobgoblein (talk) 13:04, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your block

[edit]

I have left a note on the blocking admin's talk page to request that he explains the block. However, if you wish to contest the block, add the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below. Stephen! Coming... 13:17, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

thanks i thought nobody was coming! Hobgoblein (talk) 13:20, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

can you unblock me since enigmaman is probably asleep? Hobgoblein (talk) 13:25, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

reverted three times (NOT MORE) before I knew the policy. they warned me and i stopped

Decline reason:

Three times is not an entitlement. Admins may block after one time. Did you read that in the policy too? The block length is appropriate, if not a bit lenient in my opinion. Maybe you will review your behaviour when the block expires. Because if you don't, it will only be longer next time. – B.hoteptalk14:12, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

You received multiple warnings for vandalism and 3RR and your behaviour did not improve. You do not have to violate 3RR to be blocked for edit-warring, and I didn't use 3RR as a block rationale. In this case, you engaged in a protracted edit war involving vandalism. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]. You vandalized the same page eleven times, and I'm supposed to believe you didn't do anything wrong? If it was simply a content dispute and you promised to stop, I'd consider lifting the block. It wasn't. Finally, "can you unblock me since enigmaman is probably asleep?" was an inappropriate request. You did not provide a compelling reason why you should be unblocked. Evem if you read the unblock request suggestions and improved your request, I would think any admin would have to be careful if considering unblocking an account such as yours, which has zero good contributions and a host of bad ones. You could have been blocked indefinitely for being a vandalism-only account, but I was lenient in your case. Also, repeatedly blanking every warning you were given is not helpful. It's often a sign of a troublesome user. I just indef-blocked someone who edit-warred for about a year over an article and reverted every 3RR warning he was given. I didn't say I'd did nothing wrong! of cuorse i did! i simply said i stopped the vandalism when asked and stopped the reverting of my good edit when asked. iv read wp policy and will obey. Hobgoblein (talk) 14:07, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You'l notice i used vandalism as a bad way for a good thing and now i know better. i wont blank warnings in the future. and I'm sorry about the inappropriate request. i peeked at your edit list and guessed that you weren't awake in the literal sense. Hobgoblein (talk) 14:09, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Could I please get a response to the above as I didnt express myself well the first time around. Hobgoblein (talk) 14:14, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The response to the above is contained in the declined unblock request. I took all you said into account. – B.hoteptalk14:18, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

okay thank you i look forward to good edits in the future. Hobgoblein (talk) 14:20, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

[edit]

Hi, how's it going? I see there's a lot of movement on an article which you previously got blocked over. I also see something here which you seem to have given up on. Just let me tell you that that was a good move – trying to resolve the perceived problem by discussion rather than edit warring. A bad move would be to carry on filling up the edit history with your name and earning another block. Just keep cool, please. – B.hoteptalk• 21:57, 25 August 2009 (UTC

Huh. That possibly wasn't the way to go. Again, using the article rather than the talk page. Anyhow. Read my reply to your reply at my talkpage. I'm off to dreamland. – B.hoteptalk22:57, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
