November 2020

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Asartea. I wanted to let you know that I reverted one of your recent contributions —specifically this edit to No Nut November—because it did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Help desk. Thanks. Asartea Trick | Treat 12:27, 1 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Asartea. As you can see, I've reveted the vandal edits made by some anonymous users. Please recheck your auto-revert, I've done nothing wrong. HiyoriX (talk) 12:32, 1 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
HiyoriX, Yup you're right, my excuses for that. What happened was that I saw the pre-revert version and tried to revert that only because you already reverted it I accidently reverted you. I've undone my reversion and strikethroughed the warning. Asartea Trick | Treat 12:36, 1 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your kind help requested regarding the Hebrew translation of Katja Loher

[edit]

Dear HiyoriX, I recently (March 16) attempted the publication of the Hebrew version of page Katja Loher which was deleted due inadequate translation. A second attempt was made on March 20 after the article was improved by a native Israeli writer, however this was also deleted for reasons not entirely clear to me (https://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D7%A7%D7%98%D7%99%D7%94_%D7%9C%D7%95%D7%94%D7%A8). Since you handled the case in part, I wonder if could advice me on to the course of action to take to achieve the goal desired: make this reading available to Hebrew readers. Your help with this will be greatly appreciated. Best, Neuralia

The first deffective text which was deleted is still visible at https://he.wikipedia.org/wiki/%D7%9E%D7%A9%D7%AA%D7%9E%D7%A9:Neuralia/%D7%98%D7%99%D7%95%D7%98%D7%94. The second, improved submission (also deleted) is now visible at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Neuralia/sandbox4
Both versions and the draft are an heavy machine translation. Also, don't just post messages here about things that happened in other-language wiki - please post the message in the correct talk page: he:User talk:HiyoriX. HiyoriX (talk) 18:41, 21 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit]

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

  • adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
  • comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
  • follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
  • comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
  • refrain from gaming the system.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
