You added the following to the article Sugar Shack, and first of all i want to thank you for a valuable contribution that i expect will end with improvement of the article (tho i am moving that copy of the following to Talk:Sugar Shack#Faye Voss, along with my opinion that you've done us a "solid" favor by contributing it):

Note: It has been stated in error above that Jim Torres had co-written the song 'Sugar Shack' with Keith McCormack but had given his share to his aunt, Faye Voss. Actually he was no kin to Mrs. Voss as she was Keith's aunt and Keith has stated that 'he' shared the song with his aunt Faye because of all the support she and her husband Johnny Voss had made to him over the years. Johnny Voss had been the band's original manager and promoter. (Historian Robin)

I do very little pop-music research, but heard a radio story about the song "[She's a] Maniac on the radio, and (while researching to confirm its original lyrics and context) then heard the term Sugar house used in the news and wondered if my impression (perhaps bcz my mom said so, when the song came out?) that it's also slang for malt shop is accurate. (That research is now on my round tuit list!)
In case you've the interest and info to help bring your contrib to fruition in the article, know that i've commented further on this matter at talk:Sugar Shack#Aunt Faye.

The article Dixon Museum has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Formatting

[edit]

Do not use HTML markup in articles. Wiki has its own markup. See MOS:BOLD. Also, do not bold song names. Paragraph break codes are not necessary either. --Jennica / talk 01:05, 13 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Follie, TX moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Follie, TX, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. OK, this is about the 4th bio or note I've submitted, all of which have been rejected. I've been writing newspaper articles about people and places in the Caprock region of W. Texas, for over 20 years. I'm the author of Browns Index of West Texas Musicians & Bands (on the web). Some consider my studies of early Rockabilly artist of Tex-N.Mexico to qualify me as an expert on N. Petty and Clovis music. also, I've written many articles about 'early ranching of the Texas Panhandle.' I am a collector of antique paintings, and the author of Browns Index of Southwest Artists, which has been published on the Net for over 25 years.
My 1st submission to your Site, was about Keith McCormack a member of the famous 1960's band, the String-a-Longs of Plainview, TX. Someone had confused Keith's aunt, Faye Voss, as being the aunt of another member of the band. When I submitted my correction, I even gave a Reference to an article in "Plainview Daily Herald" in which Keith McCormack mentions his aunt Faye Voss, who was his co-writer on the million seller record. "Sugarshack" ..the Billboard top song of 1963,.....OK, your associates refused to correct this obvious mistake! Claiming I didn't present 'a credible source'.
Then I attempted a couple less important submission & received rejects. More recently, I saw 'on Wikipedia' where 'Tex Colvin' is listed as an AAU--All american of 1937, and needing a LINK. I already knew that he had received this honor, while playing basketball for the 'Denver Safeway Team' with Ace Gruenig, and they won the National AAU tournament in thirty-seven. I knew this because I had written about Tex who was (George Ray Colvin,Sr (1911-c.1979) and a native of Turkey, TX. Yes, He had played on teams with Ace Gruenig (who is in the NBA Hall of fame). Colvin also played on teams and with the MVP of the 1936 Olympic, Joe Fortenberry also from this part of Texas.
Until, you and/or your associates advise me that something I have submitted, has finally been accepted, then this Sr. citizen, writer, researcher and book-worm will be resting. Historian Robin (talk) 21:44, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
