Thanks for the WikiProject Knots/Watchlist

[edit]

Thanks for putting your watchlist up in a public area. I have found it very useful since I discovered it the other day. The fact it can be updated with a script is great. BTW, when the script includes Category:Knots, does that recursively include all the stuff under that category or just pages in the category itself?

In any case, I'll have to check-out the perl MediaWiki::Bot thing -- much easier to use than I would have imagined. Thanks again! --Dfred (talk) 17:24, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I've added a section at the top of Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Knots/Watchlist that describes what pages are included in the list.
Yeah, the script works okay. User:WatchlistBot was awesome while it was running, but it requires someone to actively maintain the bot, and bot maintenance isn't everybody's cup of tea. By going with a (hopefully easy to install and run) script, it should be possible for different people to keep the watchlist updated.
Yeah, MediaWiki::Bot is easier to use than I thought. The only downside I've found is that it doesn't have basic utility functions to handle namespace operations, but I included the separate package in my script to handle that. -Hirsutism (talk) 18:05, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

An article that you have been involved in editing, Pangender , has been proposed for a merge with another article. If you are interested in the merge discussion, please participate by going here, and adding your comments on the discussion page. Thank you. April Arcus (talk) 07:20, 28 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Demographic threat, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Mormon War. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Thanks on KIKX (defunct)

[edit]

That source you added turned out to lay the cornerstone for the rest of the article. When I came in writing on another defunct AZ radio station (after writing KFAS), I expected the mundane. KIKX was anything but, and I had some inklings of weirdness (most stations don't get their license renewals denied), but the source you added turned out to really clarify things. I'm nominating the page for DYK, which I might not have done if the station didn't have such an unusual event in its history. Raymie (tc) 01:23, 3 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Great, I'm glad to hear it! --Hirsutism (talk) 01:39, 3 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Palm Bible Plus deprod

Hi, I deproded Palm Bible Plus article, because there was AfD back in 2008 (concerning more articles in one AfD). You may open AfD instead. Pavlor (talk) 09:17, 5 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, can you please instead of deleting my page inform me with whats wrong about it so I can fix it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Saeidgolreihan (talkcontribs)

Hi Saeidgolreihan, read Wikipedia:Notability and Wikipedia:Credible claim of significance. You need to have a third-party website, such as a newspaper, that covers you. --Hirsutism (talk) 20:13, 6 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you blanked this page, thereby making somebody think you wanted to delete it. However, you then removed {{db-author}}, thereby making it blank again. What were you trying to do? — Smjg (talk) 00:40, 8 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't blank it. Maybe you meant the message for KingSombra30 (talk · contribs)? --Hirsutism (talk) 00:43, 8 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Unish (2nd nomination)

[edit]

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Unish (2nd nomination) - you said you didn't find any independent sources, Lourdes in the mean time listed several. Can you review if they are OK and independent? 92.227.230.37 (talk) 02:45, 13 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

They do seem to be independent, yes. Personally I would like to see sources in major newspapers, but that's not for me to decide, it's for other voters and the closing admin. --Hirsutism (talk) 03:18, 13 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited EssilorLuxottica, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Coach, Costa and Valentino. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
