Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high

[edit]
Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high;
Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
By narrow domestic walls
Where words come out from the depth of truth;
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection;
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit;
Where the mind is led forward by thee
Into ever-widening thought and action;
Into that heaven of freedom, My Father, let my country awake.

--Rabindranath Tagore, Gitanjali, 1910.

Transliteration

[edit]

Hello, I noticed you had helped translate the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport article for Urdu Wikipedia. I was wondering if you could help me transliterate Urdu properly on other English Wiki articles. I do not speak Urdu and am not familiar with the diacritics. My question is, would بین الاقوامی be transliterated as Bīn Alāqavāmī ? I am using the US Library of Congress' Romanization table as a guide. Thanks for your time. — Sunnya343✈ (háblamemy work) 19:45, 24 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Sunnya343: It is really an honour for me to know that a high-profile contributor of your stature noticed my humble contributions! :With regard to your question pertaining to بین الاقوامی, as per US Library of Congress' Romanization table, I would write it as Bain Al Aqvāmī, with Bain being similar to item 18 (c) of page 7 Zūlqarnain, Al explained under 18 (a) of the same page, "a" as per rule 9 of page 4, q and v as per table on page 1, ā as per rule # 3 of page 3 and ī as per example under 11 (b) on page 4. If you want to combine al with Aqvāmī, please insert a hyphen. Hope this explanation is of some help to you. --Muzammil (talk) 17:25, 25 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I myself am humbled by your words! I am not such a big editor compared to many others out there, but I digress. Thank you for your detailed explanation as to the transliteration. I will start incorporating it into the article infoboxes. — Sunnya343✈ (háblamemy work) 17:47, 26 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
