The Irelands
Hiya HK. See what I'm proposing at Mooretwin & BritishWatcher's pages. GoodDay (talk) 23:01, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
We'll get a compromise, someday. GoodDay (talk) 23:42, 25 May 2009 (UTC)
Chester
I did read the reference about Chester (reference 11 on the page I believe), but it only had a claim that Chester had the most complete walls in Britain. I read it from top to bottom.
And please, I'm not vandalising the page by removing a statement that I can't find a proper reference for.--FF3000 (talk) 22:01, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, it's reference 11. Look for the section entitled "History Hunter". And it is vandalism when you revert a good reference especially when another editor, Cantebury Tail, confirmed the reference. I can't understand why it's so difficult for you to find it... --HighKing (talk) 22:04, 2 June 2009 (UTC)
The point that I am trying to make is that Chester does not lie a claim for having more complete walls than Derry. The only reference for Chester was ref. 11, which someone has since removed, and it said "A walk around the most complete city walls in Britain is essential". That "Britain" doesn't include Derry. The statement I removed said that Chester lies a similar claim for it having the most complete walls in the British Isles, which is an unreferenced statement as the reference only says that Chester has the most complete walls in Britain. Therefore Chester has absolutely no place on the article.--FF3000 (talk) 16:41, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
- Hi FF3000, thanks for taking time to discuss. You haven't looked down the reference far enough. If you keep searching (look for the section entitled "History Hunter") you will find text that states Find out about the fascinating history of one of the best preserved complete walled Cities in the British Isles. --16:49, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Well, someone has now removed the ref about chester (I think it was LevenBoy), but your statement says "one of the best in the BI". Not the best, so still that isn't properly referenced.--FF3000 (talk) 18:00, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
3RR
Don't fall for 3RR on Derry. If you want to talk about this again then let's have some concrete proposals on the talk page. What are your precise objections to my reference? LevenBoy (talk) 16:52, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
Obliged to give you this warning.
Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly, as you are doing at Derry. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions in a content dispute within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. Rather than reverting, discuss disputed changes on the talk page. The revision you want is not going to be implemented by edit warring. Thank you.Canterbury Tail talk 16:54, 3 June 2009 (UTC)
- Fair enough. But it could have been avoided with an earlier intervention on the blatent gaming of the system by LevenBoy, and a little bit of support on the discussion from you. When a discussion is already taking place on Talk, an editor shouldn't try to hijack the article without agreement. --HighKing (talk) 17:07, 3 June 2009 (UTC) --HighKing (talk) 23:07, 3 June 2009 (UTC)

List of companies in Ireland
Hi , am waiting on reply regarding my company Dublinplumber.ie being removed from the list of 'other' companies in Ireland? The list comprises companies in Ireland, mine is a company in Ireland. It is not a list of companies on the stock exchange or list of publicly owned companies or a list with any other special criteria , so could i have an explanation please? —Preceding unsigned comment added by DublinPlumber (talk • contribs) 15:41, 8 June 2009 (UTC)
I need clarification
Hiya HK. Do you understand what Domer's proposing, concerning the articles Republic of Ireland & Ireland? GoodDay (talk) 21:34, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- Absolutely. He wants "Ireland" to refer to the state. --HighKing (talk) 21:37, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
So, he wants to move the article Republic of Ireland to Ireland. What does he want to move the article Ireland to? GoodDay (talk) 21:39, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
- At a guess, Ireland (island), and have an Ireland (disambiguation) page to complete the trio. You know, strictly speaking, he is correct, and there is a case to be made. But there's an equally valid case against his argument. --HighKing (talk) 21:42, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
Surely, he doesn't mean to gut out the RoI page & merge the content into the island page. GoodDay (talk) 21:47, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
Poll
A poll is on at the BI-taskforce to see whether a compromise can be reached over the usage of the term "British Isles", at Wikipedia:British_Isles_Terminology_task_force#Poll. Just incase you're interested. FF3000 (talk) 16:01, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
Poll on Ireland (xxx)
A poll is up at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Ireland_Collaboration/Poll on Ireland (xxx). This is a vote on what option or options could be added in the poll regarding the naming of the Ireland and Republic of Ireland and possibly the Ireland (disambiguation) pages. The order that the choices appear in the list has been generated randomly. Sanctions for canvassing, forum shopping, ballot stuffing, sock puppetry, meat puppetry will consist of a one-month ban, which will preclude the sanctioned from participating in the main poll which will take place after this one. Voting will end at 21:00 (UTC) of the evening of 1 July 2009 (that is 22:00 IST and BST). -- Evertype·✆ 18:15, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
