the Irelands

Hiya HighKing. Seeing as Republic of Ireland is gradually being pipelinked across Wikipedia as Ireland? I've given up my hopes of moving the RoI page to Ireland (state). Also, I no longer oppose moving Ireland to Ireland (island). GoodDay (talk) 19:54, 28 August 2008 (UTC)

PS- What you suggested weeks ago, may come to pass. Ireland as a disambigous page; Ireland changed to Ireland (island) and Republic of Ireland changed to Ireland (state). GoodDay (talk) 15:01, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
I believe it will. It was a much more complicated situation that I have originally thought, and this is the best compromise. It will stop the propagation of the term "Republic of Ireland" as a *name* for the state on WP once and for all. --HighKing (talk) 16:27, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
I've endorsed your idea at the RoI talk-page. GoodDay (talk) 18:13, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
Lets hope you're both wrong! :-) Crispness (talk) 20:25, 30 August 2008 (UTC)
I'm afraid I've given up on changing the status quo, HighKing. We haven't been able to get a consensus for them. GoodDay (talk) 23:57, 4 September 2008 (UTC)
Looks that way. Oh well, roll on the next debate in ... oh ... 8 weeks? --HighKing (talk) 00:00, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
Yep. GoodDay (talk) 00:36, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

There will be no morotariums yet - this one has not closed. --Matt Lewis (talk) 16:37, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Taking a wikibreak

I'm taking a wee wikibreak - I'm surprised I haven't taken one before now. I expect I'll get back to editting after a few weeks. Any comments or issues may not be seen for a while... --HighKing (talk) 20:16, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Looking forward to your return. GoodDay (talk) 20:18, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Obviously for you to become involved in this you must be checking my history?

Maybe you have a genuine interest, who knows?

I often check peoples history of contributions, its pure boredom and curiosity. But I have ALWAYS held off getting involved in disputes that I am not genuinely interested in, I would never get involved in a dispute that I am not interested in just to spite an editor I had a disagreement with. To do otherwise would only indicate a desparate personality trait on my part. Djegan (talk) 00:54, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

I often check peoples history of contributions, its pure boredom....now DJ, productive editors would never be bored, there is just so much that can be done. Sarah777 (talk) 00:58, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
I *am* genuinely interested. Of course. As would a host of other editors I'm sure. Interested as to why you chose these titles too. All the coin articles are at "Irish XXX coin" as opposed to the more common "XXXX (Irish coin)". I see shilling, penny, half-crown, farthing, florin.... --HighKing (talk) 01:03, 8 September 2008 (UTC)
As I am sure you will appreciate "often" is a very subjective term. Djegan (talk) 01:05, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

With HighKing and Sarah777 policing wikipedia I am sure we're in safe hands. Djegan (talk) 01:18, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for that DJ, we try. Btw, I assume you are talking about HK with your "stalking" remarks but just in case I'm part included I must point out that it is HK's page that's on my watchlist and I certainly don't track you anywhere. Sarah777 (talk) 23:35, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

Whilst you might think its fun to stalk my edits its a course of action which will not be sustainable if you consider yourself a mature editor. I'm not here to childishly fight over an article here an their. I'm here for the long run and willing to sit this out. But are you? Djegan (talk) 08:42, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

Your welcome, and its your right to wiki-stalk me. But no one likes a stalker, its not the sort of thing you would put on your resume, and hardly the stuff of good conversation to describe your personality? Enjoy. Djegan (talk) 08:55, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

You're fond of flattering yourself with the idea of being wiki-stalked - hope it strokes your ego and makes you feel special that someone looked at your edit history. I notice you are trying hard to avoid answering the question on why you chose those article titles, why you resisted page movement, and why you created a redirect page solely for the reason of thwarting a page move. --HighKing (talk) 11:01, 8 September 2008 (UTC)

Creating Dabs

Please do not create disambiguation pages by simply editing the existing page as you did with Half crown - when you do that the article loses its connection with the edit history which allows the authorship of the article to be attributed, which is a major requirement of Wikipedia's GFDL licence. The correct procedure is to request the original article to be moved, and then create the dab page in the original location - move the article, not the text. -- Arwel Parry (talk) 00:15, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

OMG, thanks for catching that. I was interrupted in the middle of editing and obviously screwed up when I returned to it. --HighKing (talk) 11:12, 12 September 2008 (UTC)

Hello the above user is continuing to vandalise, as he did to Aviccena. Please stop the user. Lord of Moria Talk Contribs 13:12, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

British Isles removal

You appear to have re-started your campaign. Please do not remove British Isles from articles. You know the problems it causes; I thought you had learnt by now. Please stop now before this escalates. 86.153.202.69 (talk) 13:57, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

Ah yes. Anon IP addresses making vague threats and insinuations behind a veil of anonymity without actually discussing an actual edit or article. Didn't work before, won't work now. Perhaps if you logged in... --HighKing (talk) 15:49, 30 September 2008 (UTC)
