Sigma Sound Studios Contribution
Hello!
I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out because you deleted my Sigma Sound Studios contribution about Temple University. I linked the page from which the content derived, therefore I do not understand the grounds for which that action was justified. I am new to the Wiki-verse, and am eager to learn the proper protocol as I go along my probationary contribution period to becoming a full blown contributor.
Thank you very much for your feedback,

- Hi jh3857 and welcome to Wikipedia. I am happy to help and I already posted a welcome message to your talk page with helpful links. I am very glad this experience hasn't detered you from editing Wikipedia, it is really a fun place.
- Regarding the copyright comment – I found that the content that you copied was published under Temple University and I saw that Temple University states copyright "All rights reserved" on their home pages. Therefore, I assumed the copyright still fell under that. The libraries copyright policy is focused on school based work and this seems to be focused on research specifc examples. You are free to re-add it in your own words though. However, I don't claim to be a copyright expert so I'm going to ask at the WP:HELPDESK (a Wikipedia specific helpdesk, be sure to check it out!) to make sure I am following Wikipedia guidelines properly and giving out correct information. If I was wrong, I fully apologize and thank you for bringing it to my attention. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 21:40, 24 January 2019 (UTC)
- jh3857 So It looks like the content is copyrighted [1] but feel free to translate the information into your own words. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 05:55, 25 January 2019 (UTC)
I appreciate you for following up with me as I learn the ropes of Wikipedia, thank you! I hope you have a terrific day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jh3857 (talk • contribs) 16:25, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
Amending
Hi HickoryOughtShirt?4 , i dont understand why has been deleted most of my page. As i am editing and adding references and biography, as there isn't any conflict of interests but based on articles available online. thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Albertogiurioli (talk • contribs) 16:45, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Albertogiurioli and welcome to Wikipedia. There is a clear conflict of interest here based on your username and edits. You need to follow our COI policy as posted on your user page or risk being blocked. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 16:48, 31 January 2019 (UTC)
Problem editing an entry
Hi, This is the first time I have tried to edit a page and I have obviously made some mistakes - for which I apologise. I was trying to update some of the info on the Orana Steiner School website, in particular the Principal's details (someone keeps changing it to "God knows who" and making claims about people dying of measles at the school...). I copied and pasted what I thought was innocuous info from the school's website info page, but I guess it was deemed as advertising. I'm not sure of how much info I can put on there, but the page is currently very empty and partially incorrect. Any guidance would be most gratefulHarrietscd (talk) 09:23, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Harrietscd and welcome to Wikipedia. There were a few problems with your edits. Firstly, as you admitted, it was directly copied from the school's website. You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here. Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Secondly, if you have a conflict of interest with this topic, please understand that any financial relationship must be disclosed. Unfortunately, If you have any more questions I don't think I can answer them promptly because of the time difference between us. I recommend checking out the Wikipedia:Teahouse, a help desk for beginners instead. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 09:37, 6 February 2019 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: Seetaram Vidyalaya Baba Chouraha
Hello HickoryOughtShirt?4. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Seetaram Vidyalaya Baba Chouraha, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: This appears to be modeled on the http://www.gfcollege.in/ website, but - "This College was established in 1947" - to be about a different insitution -"This College was established in 2001". Thank you. Shirt58 (talk) 09:58, 7 February 2019 (UTC)
Skip Snead entry on Upland High School
Hi! I still need to create a page for myself because, after more than 25 years in the surf world, I have made a name for myself. I feel I am a legit, notable entry for notable alumni under Upland High School... I created the Surfing Airshow, which is world famous surfing events. If you google search Surfing Airshow you will see how many articles come up, and if you search Skip Snead Surfing Airshow, you will see my name linked as the Founder of the events.
I was also Editor of Surfing Magazine for many years. A notable publication that was world famous for more than 50 years and the most popular surf magazine in the world.
Thanks for reaching out!!
I want to create a Skip Snead page for my kids so they have something they can talk about with their friends!! I feel I earned my place and put in the time!
Have an awesome day!! Go Canucks!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ghettojuice (talk • contribs) 00:57, 9 February 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Ghettojuice and welcome to Wikipedia. While I love your enthusiasm to edit Wikipedia, I must tell you it is strongly recommended you do not create an Wikipedia:Autobiography. It is a direct example of something that is against our conflict of interest policy. The reason I reverted your edit was because you do not have a Wikipedia page, something that, in general, someone should have before being added to most lists. While I know you want to create a Wikipedia page, you should not edit more without declaring your conflict of interest (see WP:DISCLOSE) and giving Wikipedia:An article about yourself isn't necessarily a good thing a read. An article about yourself isn't always the best idea. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 01:24, 9 February 2019 (UTC)
C.J. Walker
The information in Madame C.J. Walker's bio is incorrect. Please, research Annie Malone. DinaMcIntosh (talk) 01:03, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
- Well, that's your job, if you want the edit to stay. But that edit cannot stay anyway, since it's a rather randomly thrown in and poorly written comment that breaks the layout of the page--and it lacks secondary sources. Drmies (talk) 01:05, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

Tyler Dooley's name does not belong ...
Hello there, thank you for getting back to me. I'm a general member of the public who defends the Duchess of Sussex. I was APPALLED to see Tyler Dooley's name on Meghan, Duchess of Sussex's Wiki page. He is 1/4 nephew as the son of her 1/2-brother. He's a shameless, opportunistic grifter who lies to the media for money. He last saw Meghan when he was 6 years old. He is now 27 I believe, and he's on her page?? Why? The last interview for pay he did with The Daily Mail he said he had spoken to her two years ago, a complete fabrication. There is zero relationship. He also has a brother, but why isn't his brother here and only Tyler? Makes no sense to even HAVE this [redacted] individual on the Wiki page of a member of royalty. [redacted]
Please remove this name, thank you. Her father's and mother's name should be there only. [redacted] To see his name here frankly sickened me, as I'm sure it did many others.

- Hi Blackie49583 and welcome to Wikipedia. You should take these issues to the article's talk page and stop using multiple IPs to remove his name. This is not how Wikipedia works. We work on WP:CONSENSUS not persistent, and disruptive, editing. As well, please be advised of WP:BLP. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 01:39, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
- Blackie49583, you need to read this, WP:BLP, and then you will understand why I removed some of your comments and have scrubbed them from the history. Do NOT use this kind of language of Wikipedia, regardless of how you feel. Drmies (talk) 01:42, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
- Drmies Never be sorry for cutting in, you're very helpful. Just for full context, this has been going on for a while and has caused the page to be protected. So called members of the public like 69.161.111.167 (talk · contribs · WHOIS) have been making such edits for a long time.HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 01:44, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
- I saw some of it--thanks. That's pretty sad. Let's see if this continues, and we'll see what we can do. Thanks again, Drmies (talk) 01:48, 13 February 2019 (UTC)

Caloundra Lighthouses
I am part of a "not for profit" Friends group looking after the Caloundra lighthouses and thought a link to our website would be useful for Wikipedia users It has history of the place as well as information about visiting I am new to Wikipedia and assistance would be welcomed Cheers RogerToddArchitect — Preceding unsigned comment added by RogerToddArchitect (talk • contribs) 06:39, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
- Hi RogerToddArchitect and welcome to Wikipedia. Did you read the message I sent you about spam links? That is exactly what Wikipedia should not be used for. Exactly that, advertising affiliate links. Please stop using Wikipedia for advertising purposes or you may be blocked. Use Twitter or a blog, not Wikipedia.HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 06:42, 13 February 2019 (UTC)
Hi there, can you please tell me why you keep reverting changes to the page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Moeller ?
Happy New Year
Thanks for catching my screwup. Yours, Quis separabit? 03:24, 6 January 2019 (UTC)
Joseph Santoliquito
Thank you for looking out for my Wikipedia page. However, I am the one who made the corrections to my own page today so there is no need to revert back to the previous page posted.
Thank you,
JS (JSantoliquito (talk) 16:54, 20 February 2019 (UTC))
- @JSantoliquito: hello and welcome back to Wikipedia. Yes, I have been watching the page because of an influx of vandalism but I wasn't watching it for you. No one owns the page, even if you made it, and especially not if it's about you. The edits you are making are super promotional, basically just spamming every article you've written that's been mentioned in some regular media, and the article has now been PROD'd. You were warned in 2015 about this too so I urge you to be cautious since you know about your COI polices. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 16:57, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
Joseph Santoliquito
Please delete the Joseph Santoliquito wikipedia page.
Thank you,

- @JSantoliquito: Why? The article is currently going through Article for Deletion. Please leave your comments there. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 17:12, 20 February 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for reverting my talk page
I don't know who this anonymous user who thinks they have the authority to block me is, but they must be stopped at all costs! - Jasonbres (talk) 04:01, 21 February 2019 (UTC)
- @Jasonbres: No problem! I have already reported them to AIV, likely an LTA troll. Keep up the good work!HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 04:02, 21 February 2019 (UTC)
RE ANI
Idk, I couldn't remember anything. However, [2]
That's all I got. Pretty much Special:Contributions/27.34.50.244/18 matched with the tag filter mobile web edit
gets so-so comparable results. That isn't even really worth bring to SPI for, so I am sorry I was not able to assist you further. ―Matthew J. Long -Talk-☖ 06:21, 21 February 2019 (UTC)
- MattLongCT No, no, thank you so much for the followup! It's a place to start. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 06:23, 21 February 2019 (UTC)
- Also, (and I literally just found this) Samar Baniya. This user sorta reminds of Maandhozzgrg, but not by much. This has been a tricky thing for me to try and identify. The problem with a lot of these Nepalese editors (such as Special:Contributions/Binirmad, Special:Contributions/Samar Baniya, and Special:Contributions/Shubham uprety) is that will make a few to a LOT of edits in a limit set of articles and then vanish. I can't tie them to a single profile or set of behaviors. I couldn't even track down a single region since the ip's stretch from Jhapa to Kathmandu. That could be (and probably is) just about anyone! My best guess is that they aren't a SOCK or that they are really good at hiding it. ―Matthew J. Long -Talk-☖ 06:34, 21 February 2019 (UTC)
- MattLongCT Looking at the interaction timeline there is some overlap but nothing stands out as sockish. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 06:46, 21 February 2019 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Quinn Hughes
The article Quinn Hughes you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Quinn Hughes for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already been on the main page as an "In the news" or "Did you know" item, you can nominate it to appear in Did you know. Mark Stone edit
Stone doesn't play for the Winnipeg Jets....I edited to show that.
- Whoops, I am sorry about that! I undid the edit and will remove the warning. Thanks for the message. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 16:28, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
I've blocked the IP
Yup, I have. Bishonen | talk 19:53, 22 February 2019 (UTC).
- Bishonen Thanks for the quick work! Do you think it would be a good idea to protect the talk page (Talk:HIV/AIDS denialism)? HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 19:55, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
- I'm going to leave it open for editing for the time being. I just extended the block to the IP range 190.173.128.0/18 in order to put a stop to the IP hopping disruption. I'm leaving it unprotected on purpose (just for now) so that the user can add additional disruption there (if possible). This way, I can easily catch, revert, and extend the block. Protecting the page would make the user just move their disruption elsewhere, which would make it harder for us to stop and take care of. Sometimes, it's better not to protect a page in certain situations... at least right away. ;-) Pinging Bishonen to send an FYI regarding the change to the block. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 20:16, 22 February 2019 (UTC)
Regarding Page Omalloor.
Hi, It has been observed that you are deliberately inserting inappropriate contents in the Omalloor (Omallur) Wikipedia page. I request you to kindly stop these. Please let me know if I have reported these by mistake — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bigi Philip (talk • contribs) 12:46, 24 February 2019 (UTC)
- Hi Bigi Philip and welcome to Wikipedia. I'm pretty sure you've reported these by mistake because if you see the edit I reverted [3] that was clearly vandalism (blanking the page) and I was just reverting it. I'm sorry if you disagree with the content my reverted re-added but that isn't vandalism in my opinion. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 14:37, 24 February 2019 (UTC).
@HickoryOughtShirt?4:: Sorry to report your edit as vandalism, I have undone the warning message here and will be more cautious in future. I am from the place Omalloor mentioned in the page and I tried to provide the facts, to the best of my knowledge. If you have the privileges can you kindly change the page name to Omalloor? The current one 'Omallur' is incorrect.
