Changes to page Deana Uppal
Hi Hickory,
I am not promoting or advertising in anyway. This profile has been left incomplete and I am helping you complete her profile which is still incomplete. We both are on the same team, mate. I am just updating a "Punjabi" (Indian Language) Movie listing of Deana which is not listed here called HARD KAUR which released in 2017 and making minor edits. You can google the same, the information is missing from wikipedia. The page for the movie is missing from wikipedia.
Anxiously awaiting a response.
Thanks & Regards,
Iqbal
- @Iqbal1184: Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. While we may both want to expand knowledge on Wikipedia, one of us (you) is being paid by the person themselves to do it. This absolutely means you may have a hard time following policies like neutral point of view and not writing an article like a resume. All of your additions are promotional and you still have yet to declare your conflict of interest despite many talk page request to do so. As I have already told you, it is required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose on your talk page and on the articles talk page that you are her social media manager as you claim here. If you continue adding promotional content and not using WP:Edit Requests you risk being blocked. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 05:19, 3 November 2018 (UTC)
I am not sure what your reference to my editing of this page is calling out. The link you provided is far too ambiguous for me to understand the offending content. I am not affiliated with Hyman other than speaking with him and being a fan of University of Michigan Hockey where I first became aware of him and began following his career. I am not being paid for any of my edits or opinions or any other content. My career is in Information Technology and is no way related to publishing or creating copy for articles such as this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Realstuart (talk • contribs) 04:13, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Realstuart: I am referring to your edit summary that states "Removing personal life section at request of family." I didn't realize acquaintances from university got personal phone calls asking for Wikipedia help.HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 04:15, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
Your comment "I didn't realize acquaintances from university got personal phone calls asking for Wikipedia help." is presumptuous. My wife and I have season tickets to the University of Michigan Hockey program and we have had them for many years. Depending on how long a player stays with the program we often are able to talk to them and their parents either by socializing during/after games or through our involvement in the hockey booster club. It was asked of me by Zach's father at a hockey game to remove the content related to specific aspects of his Jewish background and I did at his request. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Realstuart (talk • contribs) 04:22, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
- @RealStuart: So wanna explain this edit where you admit to being a personal friend of the family? You actually say "myself, combined with Zach's father, have been working a great deal on Zach's page to ensure that it is as complete and accurate as possible" so.....HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 04:27, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
Hickory - I appreciate you being diligent and doing your job to ensure accuracy of Wikipedia content and challenging submissions where appropriate. I can see how the content you are providing based on the comments I made over 3 years ago would look suspicious to you. The fact is that during Zach's tenure at the University of Michigan, as I stated, my wife and I spoke to him and his father on a number of occasions. Since his departure, I have had no contact with his family and only minimal contact with him at book signings. I would not have access to contacting him outside of that circle due to the security at NHL games. As I also mentioned, I work in Information Technology and in sharing my background with Zach's father during Zach's time at Michigan I spoke with him candidly on content that should exist in the page based on Zach's achievements as well as comparing to other professional hockey athletes. My goal is to ensure that the content on Zach's page is as accurate and up to date as possible. Candidly I would love to have the relationship with him that you suspect I do, however my wife and I remain only fans/boosters of Michigan Hockey and those that we have seen reach the NHL. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Realstuart (talk • contribs) 04:45, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Realstuart: Thank you for finally admitting this. I see you alluded to that being from 2015. Please note I can see your entire edit history and can see many more instances of involvement (How about this edit from 2016 where you use the words "we" even though accounts should only be run by one person). Regardless, you still have a personal connection with him, I mean you go to his book signings after all (that means something!) and you claim to have contact with him in the past. Since you initially lied to me, I have no idea if you are telling the truth or not. What I do know is that you have a clear conflict of interest (you can read about it at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest) and you should disclose it on your user page and Hyman's talk page. Wikipedia pages are not owned by Hyman or his family or personal friends. When articles are edited by COIs it undermines public confidence in Wikipedia and you have been doing this for years. Your edits so far have been less than neutral and you seem to be struggling to write candidly about Hyman. This is common for most COI editors. What this also means, is that unless it is for minor edits like vandalism or copyediting you should use WP:Edit requests so others can judge your edits and their neutrality. I have already had to remove so much WP:PUFFERY from your edits. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 05:01, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
Hickory - I am sorry that revision edits which I made three years ago are not up to the standards of you and Wikipedia. In my haste of adding in content and comments it is entirely possible that an "I" was used as a "We" or vice-versa and that "We" did not exactly, precisely mean that two people were sharing a wikipedia account as you seem to suggest. Rather, it could have inferred the product of a discussion I had with Hyman's father at the time that the edit was made. To be absolute, no one has ever used my wikipedia account except me. I appreciate that you are able to see the entire history of all of my edits. I am sure that your powers are formidable and your authority is without question; Truly, you command fear and respect. To clarify, attending a book signing does not produce a personal connection. It is clear that you have never been to an event such as this. To describe it briefly would best be likened to attendees being bottles on a bottling line. I had about 1 minute with Hyman as he signed my copy of The Magicians Secret, he asked me if I was well, and I congratulated him on his NHL career. While I realize that wikipedia pages aren't owned by his family or his friends, as I am continually trying to impress upon you, I do not fall into either of those classifications. Hypothetically, would you classify yourself as having a personal connection with the Prime Minister if you once spoke with him when he was a Member of Parliament and then attended a town hall after he became Prime Minister and asked a question? If it will placate you for me to add content to my personal talk page that in the past I have spoken to Zach Hyman I will do so. Suggesting that I have been "have been doing this for years" also incorrectly implies that I have been singularly focused on writing conflict of interest pieces with great frequency. Given that your powers extend to viewing my complete history of edits, I am sure that you will see that there are often extremely large gaps between edits. As I said in my last message to you, I appreciate that you are trying to do your job. That said, coming to me with the mindset of education and working together to address issues would have been much more constructive than the brusque nature which you chose to have. I appreciate that your main user page states "This user tries not to behave like an angry mastodon." however my observation based on your messages is that you should still continue working towards this goal. I sincerely wish we could have had a more cordial interaction. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Realstuart (talk • contribs) 05:27, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Realstuart: I am sorry if I came off angry. It is hard to read feelings through text and it is nearly 1am where I am. I want to begin by thanking you for the high-quality photos you procured and the edits to non-Hyman related articles.
- Moving on: Please understand that I am trying to educate you on our policies but it seems (in my opinion) that you are nitpicking instances when you admit you were working in collaboration with Hymans's father and trying to undermine my education. You have a conflict of interest because you have worked with Hyman's father on elaborating, fluffing, and generally puffing up Hyman's page. You even go so far as to call yourself a personal friend of the family. I do not, nor have I ever, called myself a personal friend of any Prime Minister of Canada. You have made edits on the page while in this relationship with the family and based on your edits today, I must say they seem less than completely neutral. I would say you qualify as having a conflict of interest and this should be disclosed. It does "placate me" (as you say) to add to the talk page that you have a personal connection with Hyman. You can do so by following WP:DISCLOSE.
- What "This user tries not to behave like an angry mastodon" means is that I try and remain calm during an argument, have mutual respect for the editor, and a willingness to abide by referenced sources and site policies. This is not a job for me, I am a WP:Volunteer. I edit Wikipedia because I find it enjoyable and relaxing (sometimes a little too distracting if I am being honest). The problem is that some editors come here with a different interest in mind, either economically (being paid) or to further the advancement of careers or family goals. It would do well for you to edit elsewhere besides Hyman (where you do have a conflict of interest) to show that you are not solely editing hockey related articles for him.HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 06:03, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
Hickory -- I understand all too well that it is hard to read feelings through text. Please understand that I have a great deal of respect for Hyman as I had the privilege of watching his career mature through his time as an NCAA athlete (where he had a very rocky start) and am very happy for him that he has achieved the success he has through hard work and determination -- things which he writes about in his books. Perhaps I have so much respect for him because I, too, value hard work and determination to be successful and I strive to emulate and set an example for people that believe the same. It is for this reason that I concede that some of the diction which I used could be considered puffery by Wikipedia's definition. Education is fine when it is done constructively. Metaphorically beating someone over the head with a mallet, calling them a liar, using words like "undermine" and "nitpicking", phrases like "wanna explain" and being presumptuous would put anyone into a defensive posture. My references to calling myself a "personal friend of the family" was to substantiate the edit which I made, at the request of the family, at the time when I still had contact with them, to the user DetroitFan7 who originally created the page and had reverted the content which (I believe - however it was 3 years ago) was simple diction (without puffery). I would go so far as to even call it an exaggeration. It is 1:30 where I am (we are in the same time zone) and I must fly home from northern Michigan tomorrow as my wife and I were away for the weekend....supporting Michigan Hockey at two away games. That said, with no disrespect, I dismiss the time of day to be a valid excuse as to how this was handled. In response to your comment "that you have a personal connection with Hyman" -- The personal connection I have with Hyman is past tense. As I have repeatedly said, I do not have it any longer and while the point I made was hypothetical (which you seemed to have missed since you stated "I do not, nor have I ever, called myself a personal friend of any Prime Minister of Canada") I was rather hoping it would help illustrate the actual dynamic that exists (or more accurately doesn't exist) between us. I appreciate your hard work and your note "that I try and remain calm during an argument, have mutual respect for the editor". It saddens me that I was unable to see that in this particular instance. Finally regarding your comment of "would do well for you to edit elsewhere besides Hyman", like you, "find it enjoyable and relaxing" is sine qua non for me to have further interest, especially in something I am not being paid to do. Unfortunately at this point I would say my interest in contributing anything further at all for anything has vanished for fear of saying the wrong thing, using the wrong word, being biased, or expending more overheated puffery with further edits. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Realstuart (talk • contribs) 06:34, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
- Positive feelings generally don't go away even if, as you say, you are without contact with the family for years. I am trying to get you to understand that you can still be influenced by your connection with the family even if it was years ago and don't think you do. You are still only editing Hyman's page (when it comes to NHL players) in a non-neutral manner and you say above you have no other interest besides Hyman. It would do well for you to acknowledge and disclose that yes, you may have disproportionate positive feelings and ideas regarding Hyman and may struggle to write in a neutral manner. My first assumption was correct, you do have a conflict of interest and I am exhausted trying to debate this with you. Wikipedia is made up of volunteers. You are free to edit whenever you want just as I am. I am just trying to point you to some policies that I think may be of interest to you to understand and read. Thank you. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 22:47, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
I guess by your logic I shouldn't update Hyman's page again. While I'm at it, I will make sure I don't touch the pages of Carl Hagelin of the Pittsburgh Penguins (who's parents we also spoke with while he was at Michigan), Louie Caporusso of the DEL (Same), Zach Werenski of Columbus (Same situation), Jack Johnson of Pittsburgh (Same), Dylan Larkin of Detroit (Same), Cooper Marody of Edmonton (Same), Greg Pateryn of Minnesota (Same), and Kyle Connor of Winnipeg. While I'm at it, since my wife and I are such huge fans of Michigan Hockey, perhaps it would be a bad idea to make any edits to the pages of the University of Michigan hockey program. Should I also cut out edits for music bands and another areas of interest that I have as I may have a conflict of interest and may have currently/in the past had a friendship with any of these people or organizations? Perhaps it would be best for me to restrict contributions to the page for the Spotted Owl to avoid any COI involvement. I suppose even contributing to the page of the Bald Eagle would be out-of-bounds on the grounds of puffery as I believe it is a very majestic bird.
I didn't realize that my positive feelings needed to transform into neutral/negative ones for COIs to diminish/vanish. Believe me, the feeling of being exhausted is mutual. Candidly, I do not understand how you find this "enjoyable and relaxing". You did not simply point me to some policies that you "think may be of interest to you to understand and read". Do not make it appear that your initial communication to me was benign. You came down on me like a ton of bricks and without even attempting to wait for a reply from me, you rolled back the edits which I made. The first set of edits were completely factual based on raw statistics that were referenced on many other pages. You're right, we are both free to edit whatever we want, however you are the one with the golden keys and the God-complex that rolls back edits.
Going fifteen rounds with you has been frustrating and completely counter productive and as much as it pains me, it is easier to just walk away instead of walking on eggshells here and being policed by an overzealous traffic cop that makes inaccurate presumptions, utilizes personal insults, and maintains a cavalier attitude to users here as evidenced by many of the others that have taken issue with you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Realstuart (talk • contribs) 02:11, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Realstaurt: I sent you three messages on your talk page (which were not responded to and you continued to edit) pointing to site policies, that is what I meant by "showing you policies." It was under my impression you read them, felt you didn't qualify, and then came and talked to me. Yes, you have a conflict of interest if you have currently/in the past had a friendship with any of these people or organizations. Key word is friendship, not passing by or small talk. You stated you personally worked with Hyman's father and classified yourself as a personal friend. If you personally worked with the Hagelin family to edit and change his Wikipedia page than that too would be a COI. No matter the year, you still have a conflict of interest. It is seen in your edits too where they aren't worded neutrally. I did not "roll back" but removed the edits you made (and a subsequent IP) because the edits were a) not worded neutrally and b) not sourced. I even said so in my edit summary. If the edits were sourced and worded neutrally nothing would have happened. I don't have a "God complex," I'm just following site policy. My assumptions are completely accurate, you have a conflict of interest and, not by my logic but per site policy, those with a conflict of interest should not update the pages they are conflicted in. Thank you. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 02:37, 5 November 2018 (UTC)
Dallas Stars
I wasn't "being silly." That goal is still hotly contested to this day, therefore, an asterisks belongs next to any mention of their alleged championship.
- Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. If you look at Louisville Cardinals men's basketball you will see * because they were vacated by the NCAA. Just because some fans feel the Cup was underserved doesn't mean an * goes next to it. The Cup was awarded to them, they won it, and until it is vacated it should stay. Saying "they cheated" is not factual. It is more nuanced than that. Putting a * (in my opinion) would be putting too much weight on some people's opinions. Hello
My recent article submission has been rejected due to copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. I have copied from our own official website. How to create the article of our company? Please give me advice? (@HickoryOughtShirt?4:)
Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dujeedudu (talk • contribs) 07:13, 6 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Dujeedudu: Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. There are many problems here but I will break them down piece by piece. First of all, you cannot just copy and paste material onto Wikipedia. Even if the edits had not been copied they were not written neutrally and in a Wikipedia voice (ie. you use "our" and "we"). Secondly, you cannot use Wikipedia to promote your own company. That is not what Wikipedia is for. Since you have a conflict of interest, you should a) declare it on your userpage and b) not edit the page directly. If you want to create a page, which is strongly discouraged, make sure it passes our notability criteria first. Then you should create a draft and leave it in draft space until a un-involved editor has approved it. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 07:23, 6 November 2018 (UTC)

As info, I looked this up. Conte was hurt on the play but there is nothing in the news stories about a career ending injury. Also, he is being discussed on the fantasy web sites as a possible pick up for late in the season. That would not happen six weeks after the event if his career was over. Donner60 (talk) 03:35, 9 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Donner60: Thanks for double-checking. I did a quick google search and came to the same conclusion you did. The part that said "he ended Tampa Safety Chris Conte’s career" immediately threw me off as "ended so-and-so's" career is so often used in vandalism so I was already suspicious. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 03:39, 9 November 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks, I should have known you would have checked this. Even the cited source simply describes the play. For some reason that simply popped into mind, I thought some backup on this one wouldn't hurt in case the user became argumentative. I think the user may be on a shared site; it looks as if some prior edits might be valid. Donner60 (talk) 03:49, 9 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Donner60: I appreciate it , not in the mood for an argument tonight. Just want to watch the Canes beat the Hawks...hopefully! It probably is shared, it geolocates to University of Houston. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 03:54, 9 November 2018 (UTC)

Hi HickoryOughtShirt?4, thanks for your message about the needed citation specific to my recent edits. I've now included a citation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brent.cowing (talk • contribs) 21:17, 9 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Brent.cowing: Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for including a citation but it does not back up any of what you said. The citation doesn't even mention the name "James Daichendt." When writing about a living person it is essential we use reliable sources to back up what we are saying or else it cannot be included. Honestly, I doubt you will find a reliable source that says "He is recognized by his teammates on "Woods" as an excellent 3rd baseman and occasionally fills in at shortstop. He has also been commended for his choice of post-game snacks." This is also unimportant for someone's biography. If you can find a source saying he plays 3rd baseman maybe you can include this under personal life...but the wording will have to be more neutral (ie. don't say "excellent 3rd baseman") and remove this trivia about snacks. Help with David Mobley (entrepreneur) Wikipedia Page
Hello HickoryOughtShirt?4,
Can you help me to fix the errors you see with the David Mobley (entrepreneur) Wikipedia Page? I would like to fix the banner error that is displaying the correct way but I am unsure of what I am doing wrong?
I originally linked the 'Air Freshener' Wiki Page to David Mobley (entrepreneur), as he is the current owner of Wonder Wafers International, a very big manufacturer of Air Fresheners (product) in the Air Freshener industry here in the United States. He does in fact own this business, which is why I linked the David Mobley (entrepreneur) Wikipedia Page to the newly created 'Wonder Wafers Air Fresheners' link that was included in the 'Air Freshener' Wiki Page. Please see this link https://www.highbeam.com/doc/1G1-55996136.html
Please let me know what I can do to fix the banner error from being displayed on the David Mobley (entrepreneur) Wiki Page. Thank you for your help with this matter.

- @Danielcraye: Hi Danielcraye and welcome to Wikipedia. You are discussing two separate issues here. First, we don't link to pages that do not have their own article, which is why I removed your link on Air freshener. If you feel Wonder Wafers International meets our WP:Notability criteria than please start a draft using WP:YFA.
- Secondly, the banner on David Mobley (entrepreneur) will stay as long as the influence from COI editors continues. Looking in the history, "A major contributor to this article appears to have a close connection with its subject" is factual and this needs to be fixed before the template can be removed. The page needs major cleanup and removing the template saying "I have fixed the problem" when in fact you haven't is not constructive. Please understand that if you have a conflict of interest with Mobley please follow the guidelines I have left on your talk page. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 01:36, 13 November 2018 (UTC)

You changed information back to false information and highly biased sources which have been proven to not be true. I was only fixing the lies that you have let slide on this page — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.85.117.244 (talk) 05:40, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
- Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When removing information that might be controversial, as in people would object to it, (especially +6,858 bytes of information) you should take it to the talk page. The talk page is to gain consensus on the removal, addition etc. of information as Wikipedia is built on collaboration. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 05:42, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
I changed it because their is lies. the things wrote about him and it is a fact that is is not the gop canidate but the Governeor Elect which I sited my source. So the information about his being a canidate is no longer valid and is the reason I changed. Who ever else edited his page is highly biased using false and misleading sources. So if Wikipedia wants to keep fake news ok — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.85.117.244 (talk) 05:46, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
- Alright but you removed more than him just being a candidate. You removed +6,858 bytes of information regarding controversies he has been involved in. That is what I meant by controversial information. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 05:48, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
How can you not remove that much when the first thing I edited was just talking about him still being a candidate. which he is not. I then tried to removed the false or misleading stories in a different edit — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.85.117.244 (talk) 05:52, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
- Your first edit removed more than just him being a candidate. What I meant was, it was okay to say he wasn't a candidate anymore but removing information about him running was not okay. I think you were getting confused by what I am saying. Literally saying he is not a candidate is okay, removing everything else was not. You saying it is biased and misleading is something that should be discussed on the WP:Talk page. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 05:55, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
Ok ill leave that for others to fight about. its 1am here in Georgia USA and im needing to get to sleep. Ill only change that he is now governer elect — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.85.117.244 (talk) 05:58, 13 November 2018 (UTC)

- @LauraMFernandez: Hello LauraMFernandez and welcome to Wikipedia. Yes, you left me a message on the correct page but unfortunately, Wikipedia does not control what Google shows. In my experience, it should go away in a few days. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 06:31, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
Thank you
I’ll keep an eye out. LauraMFernandez (talk) 13:36, 13 November 2018 (UTC)

- @Pacecar1057: Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. In order for something to be notable, it must pass our Wikipedia:Notability criteria. Simply existing is not enough. It should have a Wikipedia article. If you want to create an article, you can create a draft using WP:YFA. Keep in mind, one newspaper likely won't show notability. You can cite newspapers using Template:Cite news. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 16:31, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
Icelandic names are not usually lst names
That MOS SURNAME page specifically gives an example using an Iselandic name
Iceland's prime minister is Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir. Jóhanna was elected to the Althing in 1978.
See that they use the person's real name, not the parent's name?
Fog89 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 05:44, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
- Here, also refer to this page, which says to use real names for Icelanders: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Icelandic_name Fog89 (talk) 05:47, 15 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Fog89: Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. I am unfamiliar with Icelandic culture however the line above the example says "However, where a person does not have a surname but a patronymic...then the proper form of reference is usually the given name." The template you have linked to specifically says "This template is put at the top of a biographical article to explain to readers that Icelanders are referred to by their given name in the English-language Wikipedia and that patronymic is the norm, not a family name"
however you changed the name throughout the article. I am looking at other Icelandic articles (like Íeda Herman) and they seem to either just use pronouns or their last name. I assume if Elsa G. Vilmundardóttir has a patronymic than that is okay.and I realize I am wrong now so I apologize for my misunderstanding. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 05:53, 15 November 2018 (UTC)- I have undone my edit. Thank you for taking the time to research and explaining this to me. - Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. It is unlikely that a page about a notable person will be deleted just 'cause but I suggest you follow Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons/Help, specifically the section titled "Overview." Please note that blanking the page is not the way to go if you want content deleted. You may need to contact our OTRS team and provide proof that you are Jayna as well. Help
Hello @HickoryOughtShirt?4 I'm having trouble creating a wiki page ENEDAO.COM can you please fix the issue . Google it to know more about it — Preceding unsigned comment added by MasumHasan (talk • contribs) 06:13, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
- Hello @MasumHasan: and welcome to Wikipedia. I did google ENEDAO.COM before I placed the Speedy Delete template on the page and I found no secondary sources to prove notability. Now, this could be because it is too new but it could also just be a non-notable company. What is very evident is that you have a conflict of interest with this company and need to learn that Wikipedia is not a tool to promote your company. I left a similar message on Talk:ENEDAO.COM but having a Wikipedia page isn't always the best. Before you continue, please understand our conflict of interest policy where it is strongly recommended you stop this quest for a page. However, if you do want to create a page you should use Wikipedia:Articles for creation where other editors can review your page to make sure it is neutral and passes our Wikipedia:Notability requirements, which ENEDAO.COM does not currently do. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 06:17, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
@HickoryOughtShirt?4: Thanks for your reply . I'll follow your instructions.
- @MasumHasan: the same goes for Masum Hasan. You should not create autobiographies. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 07:00, 25 November 2018 (UTC)
Mack Beggs info
Hello, I am actually engaged to Mack Beggs. And we would both like it if our relationship was put on his bio. Thank you have a wonderful day Kissesxo23 (talk) 02:20, 27 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Kissesxo23: Hello Kissesxo23 and welcome to Wikipedia. The only problem with this is that the references you posted did not mention either the quote or an engagement announcement from what I could tell. If you can find reliable sources saying this is true could you please show me because I cannot find any on google. I also encourage you to read over the COI policy which I left on your page, along with the sourcing message. You should also check out the Wikipedia:Teahouse which is a help desk for new editors if you have questions regarding editing. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 02:24, 27 November 2018 (UTC)
If you were to go look at his instagram bio, and or Facebook. Both show it Kissesxo23 (talk) 17:16, 28 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Kissesxo23: I checked the Facebook link you gave me and it doesn't even state he is in a relationship. Maybe it is hidden to the public? Scorlling through his Instagram there is a picture on Instagram with a long caption which includes heart emoji and a ring emoji but it doesn't say they are engaged or list the quote you give. Is it possible I am missing something? HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 18:35, 28 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Kissesxo23: I will keep looking when I have free time in about three hours. Wikipedia just needs a reference for our verifiability policy. It is really for Beggs own safety, so no one can make up facts. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 18:38, 28 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Kissesxo23: So I did some hardcore googling and there really wasn't much on your engagement. This Instagram post is the best I can find and maybe your bio (which seems to be updated since I last check?). Facebook isn't the best source but you can probably use this for now too. The source you originally provided for me doesn't mention any engagement or the quote, which is why it can't be used, and for some reason his Facebook profile doesn't say he is engaged for me. It would of course be much prefered to have something that explicitly says "we got engaged on this-and-this date" but I obvious know you two aren't lying and I hope you understand I wasn't implying you were lying. It's really just to make sure everything is accurate. If content is posted on a biography of a living person (or anywhere really) without a source, or a source that verifies the content, there is no way to prove it is accurate. This has led to scenarios where another editor comes around and changes the content to a joke or something false and there is no way to verify the original content so it is all removed. I have had to refrain from posting things on Wikipedia that I know are true but I don't have proof to back it up because it's local knowledge etc. Anyways, I hope you continue editing Wikipedia and enjoying your time here. Oh dear
Thanks for that. I'm not sure which bit of Canada you are in but if it's the right-hand side then the distant thudding you might catch coming in from the sea is my head on my desk. I've had a go on the article Talk page, while also asking myself why we bother with this sometimes ... sheesh. Have a good afternoon, or whatever it is right now! - DisillusionedBitterAndKnackered Well I guess what else are we boring editors to do with our time? HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 00:56, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- True. I have no life at all unless I am typing words into this computing device. Actually, come to think of it I need that quote for my user page ... Cheers DBaK (talk) 00:58, 29 November 2018 (UTC)

Noted
Thank you for your note about the Wiki Article on Asha Khadilkar and possible COI clauses. It is noted and I will not add any more information. But I would like to openly disclose the COI on the same Wiki Page. Is that valid thing to do? What other changes do I need to make to the Wiki Article client? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Omkark27 (talk • contribs) 06:24, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- Hello Omkark27 and thank you so much for wanting to follow our policies. Editors with COIs are allowed to edit but they need to follow some guidelines. Firstly, you will need to follow WP:DISCLOSE to disclose your COI. You do this by basically copying the template from WP:DISCLOSE onto your userpage (click the redlink where your username is) and add "connected contributor" to the articles talk page you have edited with your COI (basically just Asha Khadilkar). If you want to remove vandalism or make small edits like spelling corrections you can do so but larger edits should be requested on Talk:Asha Khadilkar by following the guidelines at Wikipedia:Simple conflict of interest edit request. This is so we can check their neutrality. I have already removed over 1,000 bytes of promotional content already from Khadilkar's page that did not follow our neutral point of view policy or were copied from her webpage without permission. Any other questions? HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 06:31, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
Ok you may completely DELETE the Wiki Article page for myself/Omkar Khadilkar. I was not fully aware of the guidelines, feel free to fully delete page — Preceding unsigned comment added by Omkark27 (talk • contribs) 06:44, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Omkark27: I really appreciate your efforts to follow our guidelines. For the future, if you want to create a page you have a COI with you should use Wikipedia:Articles for creation (or just don't create it, ha). If you have further questions do not be afraid to approach me, or if you maybe want a different editor or more opinions check out the WP:Teahouse or the Wikipedia:Help desk.HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 06:50, 29 November 2018 (UTC)
