Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources

Hello, I am a part of a group of 5 students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where we chose to edit the WDNR wiki page for a group project. The edits you've seen being made are by myself and 2 other members of the group. We are not affiliated with the WDNR, just students in the Forestry Department interested in providing a better resource for people. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Schany21 (talkcontribs) 00:55, 9 May 2018 (UTC)

@Schany21: Alright, I hope your class works out. You may wish to disclose you are a student on your user page. Just click the red link on your username and type. You also may want to explain your edits on the Talk page of the article which is often what students do when expanding an article. For example, check out Talk: ice hockey where a student editor is helping to expand the article. They disclose it at the top of the page and under Talk:Ice_hockey#Women's_Hockey they explain what they want to fix. Hope this helps! HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 01:17, 9 May 2018 (UTC)
@HickoryOughtShirt?4: I wrote why we edited the WDNR page on the talk page, is that sufficient? Also, in the page's infobox, is there any way to change the budget to biennial instead of annual? Thanks.
@Schany21: That's great! I am unsure about the biennial question but maybe ask at the Help Desk. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 00:50, 10 May 2018 (UTC)

A Suggestion

Hi HickoryOughtShirt?4, I saw you frequently revert vandalism with Twinkle, and you got rollback rights, so I suggest you try out Huggle, an anti-vandalism tool which you can patrol recent changes and revert edits very quickly. Thanks. Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 11:50, 8 May 2018 (UTC)

@Abelmoschus Esculentus: Thanks for the suggestion! I was looking into Huggle but I've seen too many false positives show up at AIV and seen rollback rights revoked because of it so I am very cautious to use it. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 03:58, 14 May 2018 (UTC)
Yeah. I revert edits which are OBVIOUS vandalism only, no need to be too worried about it. Huggle also provides tons of revert reasons, more efficient than Twinkle. Abelmoschus Esculentus (talk to me) 04:04, 14 May 2018 (UTC)
@Abelmoschus Esculentus: Thanks, I'll look more into it. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 04:05, 14 May 2018 (UTC)

Userpage

Hi! Just by total chance, I happened to glance at your userpage after you "thanked" my edit and it looked a bit familiar. ;) So glad you were able to find something on my userpage useful! All the best, Katniss May the odds be ever in your favor ♥ 03:07, 17 May 2018 (UTC)

@KatnissEverdeen: I hope it was okay I took the idea from you. I was debating crediting it to you in my edit summary but I decided I changed it enough not to. Glad it's okay! HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 03:10, 17 May 2018 (UTC)
Of course it's okay and I'm actually flattered that something I wrote was useful to someone else! Just thought it was amusing, as I saw the 'thanks' and I was like "Oh this username looks interesting, I wonder what their userpage looks like!" lol. Cheers, Katniss May the odds be ever in your favor ♥ 03:12, 17 May 2018 (UTC)

A kitten for you!

Sorry about the recent mess with the sockfarm. Enjoy this friendly kitten.

@Nanophosis: Aww, thanks! It got really confusing after a while to see who was the real person! Thanks for reverting and reporting! I too should stop watching Wiki drama with a bag of popcorn in my lap but whatcha gonna do? HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 03:46, 21 May 2018 (UTC)

Sorry

Sorry about that. A friend hacked my account — Preceding unsigned comment added by TheFBIrecruit (talkcontribs) 05:05, 21 May 2018 (UTC)

@TheFBIrecruit: Thank you for explaining. Maybe check out Wikipedia:Compromised accounts to avoid this in the future. Just try to make constructive edits from now on. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 05:07, 21 May 2018 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

Hi, my edits are just correction in the table from the see also section below the page — Preceding unsigned comment added by 1.39.162.43 (talk) 19:41, 21 May 2018 (UTC)

I was just confused because you removed references and did not replace them with new ones. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 19:43, 21 May 2018 (UTC)

I will add them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nightofeast (talkcontribs) 20:17, 21 May 2018 (UTC) Added a new edited version with citations. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nightofeast (talkcontribs) 21:11, 21 May 2018 (UTC)

COI

Hey,

Sorry about the removal of some things, regarding Edward Downe. They were inaccurately sourced. I don't really know much about Wikipedia, but I will try to be more conservative with my changes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arielsaldana1 (talkcontribs) 23:10, 22 May 2018 (UTC)

@Arielsaldana1: thank you for this kind reply acknowledging what went wrong a few days ago. I reviewed your recent edits and they all seem appropriate to me. Please keep in mind if you do have a conflict of interest it must be stated and you must follow the guidelines listed on your talk page. HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 23:43, 22 May 2018 (UTC)

Pipe Organ Info - Proto-Cathedral of St. James the Greater, Vancouver, WA.

Good Morning,

My name is Jim Stettner and I am the one that added the organ info on the Proto Cathedral of St. James the Greater in Vancouver, WA. I did not get to finish all that was to be added. And I am a total novice to the Wikipedia system as far as contributions. As to a citation, I am the President and Tonal Director of Puget Sound Pipe Organs of Stanwood, WA. We have been rebuilding the organ in stages since 2013 - so I am personally acquainted with every aspect of the organ's history. I am also a former employee of Balcom and Vaughan and have their opus list. The Wicks opus number was found on the pipework as is customary.

We are actually leaving Sunday to remove that last major portion of the organ for rebuilding and enlargement. It will go back in by end of August. After that, we have 2 more painted/stenciled facades to make and a Processional Trumpet to install in the 2nd gallery.

So how do I provide citation when everything I am submitting is essentially from my professional work experience in the process of rebuilding this organ?

Sincerely,

Jim S.
