This article does a good job with defining the terms and citing the source of those definitions, and an especially good job with maintaining a tone of neutrality.
I think the author should avoid starting the article off in a first-person tone, since this is supposed to be an informative article that can be used for reference. The author’s original intent and motivations need not be specified.
I also think that saying the phrase “Indian peoples religion” is harmful because it over-generalizes everyone in India as having the same religious beliefs. Further, categorizing two-spirit people and hijras together is also very detrimental, since it erases the cultural significance that each of these have in their respective communities. Two-spirit people are not the same a hijras, neither in conception nor societal treatment. There is no commonality between them apart from the fact that they are both outside of the gender-binary. This might have the effect of not providing the cultural context necessary to understanding their identities.
Thank you for your suggestions. I was having a bit of trouble with some of the wording as I was going through this material and carving out the most important aspects. I wasn't quite done with the two-spirited people section, but I will most definitely take your thoughts into consideration. Hfoust7 (talk) 11:47, 7 April 2017 (UTC)Hfoust7
The voice of neutrality in this article helps in providing the reader with a reading which helps them understand the basics of the Hijras, and the Two-spirit people. Although, I personally feel the author should explicitly mention where Bahuchara Mata is worshipped in India, in order to not generalize and perhaps mistake saying that Indians are predominantly Hindu. And, perhaps I would want for the author to include a section for Two-spirit people wherein their presence is shown historically through stories and tales, as the author has done something similar for Hijras. Otherwise, the author has done a good job for making a good factual article for either cultures' gender neutral figures and I look forward to what they write.AMishra19 (talk) 04:10, 1 April 2017 (UTC)AMishra19
Thank you for your suggestions. I will most definitely try and change some of the wording in the Hijra section so I do not generalize any culture. I like your suggested approach with the two-spirited section. If it is possible for me to do that I will definitely give that a try. Thank you again. Hfoust7 (talk) 11:47, 7 April 2017 (UTC)Hfoust7
