Oreoluwa Anthony Ayodeji: passion for music

Being a musician, you are constantly faced with innumerable questions. Each question harder than before and different than all. These inquiries, some made by fans and some by critiques, makes a musician realize what’s worth it and what’s not. The people who look up to you or are interested in your life are always looking for clues to get a glimpse of something you might or might not be hiding. The most fundamental yet vital question that Anthony Oreoluwa was put face to face with from time to time is “Who inspired you to become a musician?”, “Who do you owe your success to?”, “What makes you what you are now?”. One could answer these puzzles by simple statements that may sound satisfactory to the audience, but they may not be true. One could make up an interesting history of what he saw and about his life. However, it would be better to go back in time and describe a story that is close to his heart. This story involves ups and downs with happiness and pain. It all started with a person named Anthony Oreoluwa, although people now know him with his stage name. This is what he truly is. In the state of Nigeria on 11th of November, a baby boy was born in Etiki. He studied civil engineering at Federal Polytechnics Ado Ekiti, but his heart was somewhere else and started his passion for music by joining a choir. The first single by Anthony Oreoluwa was dropped in 2015 named “D Place” produced by Marzel when he was in secondary school. It was a major hit and gained a lot of popularity. Hezkid’s other singles include “Go Mama Place” and “Ori Mi”. During these productions, the singer faced a lot of complexities and difficulties that twisted his life in a knot. After the release of the famous “Ori Mi”, he dropped “Flora” after a few months, followed by the remix of this hit song “Flora” which was produced by Charlie and featuring Aquila records artist Eleniyan Along with his music career, he started acting. Even though his music made a lot, he was criticized by many people, and this put a massively negative impact on the singer. For some time, he was majorly discouraged from bad comments and bullying. He later skipped acting and put his full focus on music. As the singer is blessed with the talent of music by God, and his passion for music is unaltered even after all those hardships, he still stands tall and continued his music career. It was resulting in his recent single Maraschino which was released on the 11th of November 2020. Anthony Oreoluwa was an inspiration for himself, and he was the one who gave himself courage and support to continue working on his dream.
