Tucker Max
[edit]Hey. I saw you asked another user why he reverted one of your edits, and he never responded. I work on that article as well, so I'll answer in his stead.
The relevant policies here are Notability and Reliable Sources. For Max's radio appearance to get mentioned in the article, it would have to be mentioned by a reliable third party source, instead of just on his website, which is a first party source.
If you've got any other questions, feel free to ask me. McJeff (talk) 04:52, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
- Don't worry about asking me questions. Most editors are happy to answer them.
- Biography of Living Persons (BLP) articles have to meet three policies: Verifiability, Notability, and Reliable Sources. WP:V, WP:N and WP:RS. Generally, wikipedia takes a very conservative approach to BLP articles. So something like Tucker's appearance on Sirius Radio, and Maddox's appearance in the internet cartoon, it isn't enough to prove that they happened, it has to be proven that they were important. A third party source (newspapers, journals, etc...) is pretty much required.
- As far as using tuckermax.com as a source in Maddox's webpage, it's third party and there's little reason to question its reliability, so I think it should be fine.
- Last thing. I'm not actually the best guy in the world at judging whether a source meets WP:RS requirements or not, but there's an entire message board here just for that. It's WP:RSN, the Reliable Sources Noticeboard. So if you're in doubt, you can always ask there. It's actually much better than asking a single person, since the guys who post there a lot tend to have more experience with sourcing. McJeff (talk) 04:51, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
Ruckers
[edit]Hi Hey Cisco,
Thanks for starting the stubs on the Ruckers. I will try to add to them soon. In the meantime, here's a link to a great Metro Pulse feature on Sparky: [1]. (It used to be hosted on Metro Pulse, but they don't seem to have their old stuff up anymore. I don't know what this mysterious Monkyfire.com is, but they seem to have a mirror of Metro Pulse's archives.) Also, I wonder if these two articles should be merged. Sparky was already well-known before he started playing with Rhonda, but as far as I know Rhonda's fame has come mostly through their work together. --Allen (talk) 17:56, 4 July 2009 (UTC)
