Thank you

Thanks! Glad I could be of some help. Hersfold (t/a/c) 16:30, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

Hipocrite at RfAr:Abd and JzG

Hipocrite removed his proposals from Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Abd and JzG/Workshop, and, when I reverted this (because he removed comments from others), he then edited the old comments,[1][2] removing all of his, to which there had been response. I think this disruptive, but ... I'm simply notifying you and the other clerk assigned to the case. Thanks. --Abd (talk) 22:48, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

Should we revert & explain? hmwithτ 19:12, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
Where'd you go? :) hmwithτ 20:43, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Sorry hmwith, I've been out for the last month with exams, travel, and various other obligations. Sorry I wasn't around for this case; when it closed, I was right in the middle of exams. Hersfold (t/a/c) 16:37, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

Simple Wiki

According to Inferno, Lord of Penguins (see here), you suggested to him that a sockpuppeting user has been indefinitely blocked at English Wikipedia should go edit Simple Wikipedia to prove they are a good user. Please do not do this again. Simple Wikipedia is not a rehabilitation center for bad English users. We are not a test wiki where someone learns how to edit a real wiki. Please keep this in mind in the future, either way (talk) 14:13, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

This isn't the first time it's been done, and I'm certainly not the only administrator who has recommended this. I'll certainly keep it in mind in the future, but you may want to make this a little more well-known to other administrators as well. I apologize if there was any problem in this case, but as I mentioned, we have (successfully) done this in the past with other blocked or banned users. It's difficult to gauge their willingness to contribute when we're not willing to unblock them. Sorry for the long delay in getting back to you on this, I've been out for the past month. Hersfold (t/a/c) 16:41, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

Can you take a look

This IP is continuously vandalizing the If U Seek Amy page by deleting a line without consensus. When warned and reverted, the IP has started calling names to me and User:Realist2 making personal attacks and racial slurs. Can you please take a look? --Legolas (talk2me) 04:20, 5 May 2009 (UTC)

Sorry I wasn't around to deal with this; in the future, WP:AIV or WP:ANI may be better for this. Hersfold (t/a/c) 16:43, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

MediaWiki:Editnotice-4-Abuse filter-False positives

Hi Hersfold. Just wondering if you could make a slight edit to this. Basically, could you ask people not to sign on their username? I've seen quite a lot of reports to the false positives page where people break the template because they've signed their username. ~~ [ジャム][t - c] 08:19, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Done. Took me a while to find the edit notice, though - apparently they've moved some things around in the past month. Sorry this took so long to handle, I've been out for a while. Hersfold (t/a/c) 16:52, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Ryulong

The proposed decision is up in the above case. It is located here. The proposed decision will be presented to the Arbitration Committee for voting on May 11.

For the Arbitration Committee. KnightLago (talk) 01:06, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

I would greatly appreciate any help

I am trying to create a navframe box... see User:Killiondude/template test. This edit broke it :-( I was using the Navbox child template for list2, copying the same way I did it for list1 and somehow I screwed it up. I heard you're really good with templates and stuff. If you could tell me how to fix it, I will. I looked at it and tried several different times with the "show preview" button, but I couldn't fix it. Thanks for any help you could provide, Killiondude (talk) 19:01, 9 May 2009 (UTC)

Never mind, I found out what I did wrong. But I might ask you for help in the future ;-) Killiondude (talk) 16:21, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Hi there!

Transwiki

Transwiki's new import bot hasn't been importing anything since April. Is it ok? hopefully so. I just finished 2005 and had to tell someone... :-) Goldenrowley (talk) 01:19, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

The bot's just fine, as far as I know... I haven't run it recently because I haven't been around for the past month. I'll try to run it later today or later this week; don't worry, you'll have plenty more to do soon! Hersfold (t/a/c) 16:55, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

West Bank - Judea and Samaria case

It's ready to be closed. I already did step 1 of the procedures, but it's late here & I can hardly stay awake. I'm fine doing it tomorrow morning (EST), or you can do it if you're motivated & get there first. Doesn't matter to me either way. :) Cheers, hmwithτ 02:42, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

Again, sorry. :-( Hersfold (t/a/c) 16:56, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

Socking at arbitration

Would you consider blocking this account? Their very recent contributions at arbitration seem to indicate further socking after past warnings. Jehochman Talk 19:29, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Is this guy still an issue? Sorry, I haven't been around lately. Hersfold (t/a/c) 16:57, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

User:Hersfold/Lockbox contains several templates that are not protected directly, and thus only protected because of their transclusion in your subpage. This seems to me to be sidestepping the protection policy somewhat. If they should be protected, they should be protected directly; apart from anything else the current situation results in protected pages with no entry in the protection log explaining why they are protected, which is not a good thing. Gurch (talk) 16:13, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

That's odd. When I put them in there, I'm fairly certain that they were all protected directly. I'll go through later when I get a chance to look for this - depending on the reason the protection was removed, I'll reprotect it or take it out of the lockbox. If it never existed in the first place, I'll be sure to put some on. Thanks, and sorry it took so long to get back to you on this. Hersfold (t/a/c) 17:00, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

HersfoldBot

HersfoldBot hasn't run in almost a month. Will it be coming back sometime soon or should the pages waiting to be copied to Wiktionary be done manually? --ThaddeusB (talk) 16:05, 24 May 2009 (UTC)

It's coming; sorry, I haven't been around for the past month. You can expect the bot to be run later tonight or later this week. Hersfold (t/a/c) 17:06, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

This arbitration case has been closed and the final decision is available at the link above. For misuse of his administrative tools, failure to address the community's concerns, and inappropriate off-wiki behavior, Ryulong (talk · contribs · blocks · protections · deletions · page moves · rights · RfA) is desysopped. Mythdon (talk · contribs) is restricted and placed under mentorship for a period of 1 year. Mythdon is also admonished for their harassing behavior on and off-wiki and directed to refrain from contacting Ryulong off-wiki and seeking Ryulong's identity on and off-wiki. All participants of WikiProject Tokusatsu are advised to work on producing a genuine guideline for the articles falling under the scope of the WikiProject Tokusatsu. They are urged to work in collaboration with Mythdon while seeking outside advice and help. Other remedies also apply.
