Bio Fox:Talk

This is about a company that I know of on the internet. And this is a wikipedia, and encyclopedia. It supposed to know everything. And since and didn't have a page on here about the Bio Fox company, I gave it a page. Why is this a problem?--Hermioneelovesron 00:04, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The article doesn't assert any notability for the company as per WP:CORP (the Wikipedia doesn't keep articles on every non-notable topic). As well, it's a plain copy and paste job from the news on their website, which isn't very encyclopedic. If you can even prove that the company may be notable, it might stand a chance in the Wikipedia, or at least an AfD discussion instead of a speedy deletion. -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk | 00:17, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not make another article in any relation to Bio Fox. Wikipedia is not a place where anyone can post a blog. Do you find a company saying "Well, we made a game today" in an encyclopedia? no. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a dumping ground. Also, I am a member of Bio Fox. I do not appreciate you making articles of us on wikipedia without mentioning it to us. We are a small company and do not want to post ourselves all over the internet until we want to. Plus, that page, according to what I've seen of it, was an exact copy of the news page on our website. That is not a wikipedia entry. Before making and editing pages, please learn how to do it correctly. And also, Wikipedia doesn't need to know everything, it does not need to have blogs, advertisements, non-important people or places, minor companies, what you did last weekend, your opinions, etc. Please don't do this again.-- TarkusAB 03:25, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You can't. The main page is a special case. Administrators can protect pages, preventing edits from either everyone or from new accounts and unregistered users. However, no one can limit editing on any page to one user alone. -- Consumed Crustacean | Talk | 21:43, 29 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ohhh. Assuming you're using Mediawiki like the Wikipedia is, it doesn't seem too tough. Does this work? The latest Mediawiki versions should allow administrators to block pages from edits from all users, as described in that link.
