[edit]I am new here and just trying to keep it civil. The Negro Creek references would be fine with me if they were cited properly and without bias. After seeing the Facebook page for the name change, their website and the opposition's Facebook page, I was appalled at the name calling and vitriol from the Rename admin and felt that he needed to rethink his contributions. I am not opposed to an entry on the Bureau County page if it can be cited and, again, posted without bias, but judging by what I have seen of the admin of the renamenegrocreek.org site, I don't know if it will happen. Personally, I agree that the name should be changed, although I live nowhere near there and have no "dog in the race", as it were, but seeing how the advocate for the change is willing to change the facts to fit his or her agenda, I don't believe the contributor will post an article describing only the facts. If he/she does it will stay up, if not....well...HermesDentist (talk) 01:01, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
- Could not agree with you more. I live on the other side of the world and have no opinion at all about whether it should be renamed (here "Negro" is not in the slightest bit offensive). But, the content the User was trying to enter was definitely poorly written, biased, not properly sourced, made no claims to notability, made no claims as to why it belongs in those articles, and was utterly not encyclopedic. Anyway, Keep up the good work. Cheers Mate, As Always, With Thanks, King of Nothing (talk) 06:32, 18 November 2012 (UTC)
Glad we got it worked out to everyone's satisfaction. I am actually in retrospect, MORE pleased with the current content than that which I originally posted.I only mentioned the "opposition" and included references because it was stated I needed to establish a "controversy". I personally believed from the start they lacked relevance. If they are simply not mentioned, all the better. Thanks to both of you Cosand (talk) 22:49, 19 November 2012 (UTC)
No problem, Cosand.
[edit]I think the way it's stated now is proper and without bias either way. Good luck on the name change!HermesDentist (talk) 02:36, 20 November 2012 (UTC)
