ArbCom 2021 Elections voter message

[edit]
Hello! Voting in the 2021 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 6 December 2021. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2021 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:52, 23 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

AFDs

[edit]

Hello, Here2rewrite,

I see you have recently started participating in AFD discussions in a big way and are relatively new to the area. Be sure to carefully review existing sources in the article, look for additional sources and provide policy-based reasons for your argument on what should happen to articles under discussion. Participating in AFDs can be very demanding and time-consuming and is not just merely offering your opinion bases on a superficial reading of the nomination statement so please take the process seriously. I'm not posting this message based on any individual comment, just based on the high level of your participation which is unusual for an editor with your level of experience. Thank you for your contributions to the project, they are appreciated! Liz Read! Talk! 00:13, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Also, be sure to follow AFD instructions completely. It is easiest to do an AFD nomination if you use WP:TWINKLE which will also post a notification on the article creator's talk page once you set your Twinkle Preferences to "Notify page creator". Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 00:18, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Huh? If there's no particular comment that's a problem then what's the problem? It's not like I'm only arguing to delete or making "per nom" comments. I honestly thought it would help admins like you out to read neglected AFDs carefully and post comments so you aren't relisting things endlessly without getting a single new comment. But apparently I needn't bother. --Here2rewrite (talk) 00:29, 15 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Here2rewrite,

Please be more thoughtful with your reverting. In this case, an LTA with 11 edits was closing AFDs and removed the AFD tag from this article. A bot replaced the AFD tag and then you removed the tag again, inappropriately. If you had looked at the editor whom the bot reverted, you would have seen that they were a vandal, and that the bot was correct. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 23:31, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please help w/ page deletion

[edit]

RE: Wikipedia page for Joël André Ornstein https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/Joël_André_Ornstein_(2nd_nomination)

Dear Contributor,

I am writing about the proposed deletion for Mr. Ornstein's Wikipedia page and acknowledge that the page has not been updated for over 11 years. I would appreciate the opportunity to revise and improve it by adding more recent, relevant content supported by reliable sources and I am committed to ensuring that the page aligns with Wikipedia’s notability standards.

I welcome any feedback on how I can enhance the article further. Could you also advise me on the best way to proceed with these updates to avoid deletion?

Thank you in advance for your consideration and guidance.

Heather

P.S. Please note that I am the previous assistant to Mr. Ornstein, but I am assisting him with fixing the current Wiki issues. I was the one that initially created the page, and I do not believe that it has been updated since then (I worked with Mr. Ornstein from 2005 - 2021).

P.S.S. I also left a talk message on the page of Mccapra, but I saw that you were the main contributor, so I thought to add the topic on your talk page too. I understand the concerns that you brought up and would like to fix them. Thank you for any assistance! :) Hlbrooks (talk) 18:50, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
