Thanks for reading my article about the Ahluwalia–Ramgarhia War. And thanks for the constructive input on increasing neutrality and avoiding bias. I realize that you’re worried about the tone, primarily in the “early skirmishes” section, and I’ll try to adopt a more measured voice with better attribution. I’ll revise, eliminating subjective language, and resubmit. Your counsel is invaluable, and I am grateful for your input. Indo-Greek 21:43, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@RachelTensions I have made the needed changes to fix the neutrality issues, especially in the "early skirmishes" part. I rewrote some parts that had biased language and made sure that all viewpoints are represented fairly. I also worked on linking opinions and statements more clearly to trustworthy sources. I think these changes make the article's overall tone and presentation better. Indo-Greek 23:00, 26 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for pointing this out. I'm not an admin on Wikipedia, so I couldn't edit the Ranjit Singh article myself. I'd recommed you to bring it to the administrators' or experienced editors' attention through the relevant noticeboards, such as Sockpuppet Investigations (SPI) or Administrators' Noticeboard. They would be in a better position to investigate and take any required actions against the possible sockpuppetry or COI acts. Indo-Greek 14:10, 30 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi RangersRus,
Thank you for taking time to review my draft on the Battle of Jammu (1774) in such detail. I will now go through the points you have made and explain how I will strengthen the submission accordingly:
To address the points raised and provide a detailed explanation, here's how you can structure your response to effectively engage with the reviewer's feedback:
  1. In-depth (not just passing mentions about the subject):
    • Hari Ram Gupta provides a comprehensive analysis of this event in two of his works: History of the Sikhs: The Sikh Commonwealth or Rise and Fall of Sikh Misls, Vol. IV and History of the Sikhs: Trans-Sutlej Sikhs, 1769–1799. These sources delve deeply into the Battle of Jammu within the broader context of Sikh and Hill States history. Additionally, other historians have also provided substantial coverage of the event.
  2. Reliability:
    • The sources used are authored by acknowledged historians who specialize in this field. Most are secondary sources, which meet Wikipedia's standards for reliability. While Dalbir Singh's work is a thesis, it is thoroughly cited and draws upon reputable primary and secondary sources, further enhancing its credibility.
  3. Secondary:
    • As mentioned, the authors referenced in the draft are secondary sources, as they analyze and interpret primary data and other scholarly works about the subject.
  4. Independent:
    • All the authors referenced are independent scholars who have studied the history of the Sikh Confederacy and the Hill States without affiliation or bias related to the subject of the Battle of Jammu.
  5. Verification (page numbers, links, and citations):
    • The page numbers are already included in the "Notes" section of the article. However, I understand that adding links and more accessible online references in the "Works Cited" section will enhance verifiability. I will update the draft accordingly.
I will be glad to revise the article by due consideration of the above-mentioned concerns and will resubmit after such improvement. Any further suggestions or recommendations which you could bring to my knowledge, I will appreciate so much.
Thank you for your time and guidance.
Best regards,
