Houston Image
[edit]Hi, I noticed that you recently loaded the file "Houston.JPG" to Wikipedia and inserted it into the Houston article. Under the images 'source' information, you listed 'google'. Since finding an image online does not make it free, it has been marked for speedy deletion. Please only upload images that qualify under Wikipedia's image use policy. I've again reverted the image back to the original FREE image, please do not change it back. Jujutacular talkcontribs 17:37, 17 July 2009 (UTC)
Bellaire High School
[edit]Hi, Henry! Welcome to Wikipedia!
Did you take the Bellaire HS photo yourself? If so, it is very nice. However it doesn't illustrate the school during the day, when students go to school and when it is active. Because there are already daytime photos of BHS, I think it is better to use the daytime photos. WhisperToMe (talk) 21:33, 12 October 2009 (UTC)
Hello WhisperToMe! I am glad that you like my photo. Yes I took the photo myself and I edited it using photoshop. The reason I took it during sunset is because I thought that way it looks more dramatic. I have searched for pics of BHS online and could not find a single one that is good. Therefore I took a chance one day and took a pic while I was driving. I saw your picture of bhs and honestly I think it is too close to the building and therefore does not show all of it. If I have the chance, I will retake a pic of bhs during the day and edit it using photoshop.
- Alright - I will be happy to use a similar dayshot photograph :) WhisperToMe (talk) 02:47, 15 October 2009 (UTC)
Times Square photo
[edit]Hi Henry: while your Times Square photo is reasonably good, you replaced a forthcoming Featured Picture and one that I think does a better job of showing off Times Square. I left yours in Midtown Manhattan, though. Thanks for understanding. upstateNYer 00:56, 28 October 2009 (UTC)
Hi. I don't see how that picture does a better job at capturing times square. it does even show the most recognizable features, including the new years eve ball, virgin mega store. seriously, it looks just like any other busy street in midtown manhattan. i think it shows off 1/20 of the entire times square. personally i think even a random image off google is better than that one. what i am saying is, it is not representative at all. it is almost like taking a picture of a random billboard in times square and say, "hey, look its times square!" at the same time, my picture is better than most pictures of times square on the internet. it shows the entire area, the crowded people, the yellow cabs, even the american flag on the right. artistically, its composition is also ideal. but u only left it in the midtown manhattan article. what a waste of such a great work. can you tell me how the other work is better?
- Where else do you get the amalgamation of Broadway billboards? As for your photo, trust me, many much better photographers than us have tried to get that view with no luck. Those red stairs are great for some photos, but with the two flagpoles and that cross monument in the way (like in your photo), getting a good photo of Times Square is almost impossible, unless you somehow got a cherry picker or something in the area, but past the flagpoles. This is the best view possible now, and it's a FP. It grabs your attention and very defines the "busy-ness" of Times Square. Also, when you make a post, be sure to sign it by placing four tildes after your post (~~~~). upstateNYer 00:37, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
I do not disagree with what you've said, but if you don't tell me, i really can't tell that the FP is showing times square (~~~~).
- Agree to disagree. And don't copy my text, just type 4 tildes. You'll know you did it right when your user name comes up when you save your post. :-) upstateNYer 21:12, 30 October 2009 (UTC)
Houston WikiProject
[edit]Hi! Would you like to join the Wikipedia:WikiProject Houston? It's a place where people interested in Houston coordinate efforts to improve articles about Houston and its suburbs. WhisperToMe (talk) 04:26, 26 December 2009 (UTC)
yes i would love to.
- In that case, please add your name here: Wikipedia:WikiProject_Houston/participants WhisperToMe (talk) 21:02, 22 February 2010 (UTC)
Photo request
[edit]Hey Henry! Would you mind getting a shot of the fire station at 6600 Corporate, Houston, Texas 77036? The image of the station is here: http://www.houstontx.gov/fire/firestations/station10.html --
Since I'm in Europe at the moment I cannot photograph it myself. If you do take it, it should be added to Chinatown, Houston. In addition I would add it to a Chinese Wikipedia article about fire stations. Thanks in advance! WhisperToMe (talk) 20:10, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
- I just found out that someone else had already photographed the station: File:HFD Station 10.JPG - If you want you are welcome to take additional shots! WhisperToMe (talk) 14:17, 16 May 2010 (UTC)

If so, why not check out:

Bellaire HS
[edit]Henry, I added some info on Bellaire, how it has a socioeconomically disparate student body, top academic programs, but also increased disciplinary incidents too WhisperToMe (talk) 05:59, 2 December 2011 (UTC)
Houston
[edit]Beautiful images on the Houston article. I really like the new infobox image...I was hoping someone with talent would update it, guess we found someone! I'm going to get rid of the SYSCO headquarters pic, the quality isn't that great. Please replace if you think it should be there. THanks, Postoak (talk) 22:29, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
Thanks very much. I felt that the Houston page needed some major improvements, so I did. I edited the Sysco pic and replaced the original one. Now it looks great. (Hequals2henry (talk) 04:33, 21 December 2011 (UTC))
Whomever changed the Houston page back to the state before I did the editing is disgusting. (Hequals2henry (talk) 05:36, 26 December 2011 (UTC))
What makes it okay that similar cities such as Dallas or even lesser significant ones such as Charlotte get better pages? Why doesn't Houston deserve a great page?(Hequals2henry (talk) 05:38, 26 December 2011 (UTC))
Whomever dislikes my editing needs to negotiate with me first before rudely destroys everything I have done. (Hequals2henry (talk) 05:39, 26 December 2011 (UTC))
Look, I spend lots of times on the internet anyways. From now on, I will check the Houston page each time I get on. If I see the ugly montage and the ugly layouts appear again, I will change them back. Because whoever is doing this is not willing to NEGOTIATE. This person might be in charge, but has absolutely NO artistic knowledge. and if my account gets deleted because of that, then Wikipedia is absolutely ridiculous. Do you know what Compromising and Negotiating means, sir? (Hequals2henry (talk) 05:53, 26 December 2011 (UTC))
Has the boss of the Houston page seen pages of other similar cities? After you have seen those pages, How do you feel about the Houston page? This page does NOT do justice to Houston. I thought Wikipedia is suppose to be unbiased. (Hequals2henry (talk) 06:04, 26 December 2011 (UTC))
We can spend days, weeks, and months changing the Houston page back and forth. Is it worth it? What is so bad about what I have done? (Hequals2henry (talk) 06:07, 26 December 2011 (UTC))
- Hello, I just stopped by and noticed what happened. Please, don't let it bother you. I think it's a good idea to discuss the new images on the Houston talk page. Other editors can participate in the discussion there. I've started a discussion there supporting your images. Thanks again, Postoak (talk) 06:21, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
Thank you for supporting me Postoak. I did not realize that only you were able to see my complain. That's really sad. Anyways Thank you. (Hequals2henry (talk) 06:50, 26 December 2011 (UTC))
Alt Metrorail image
[edit]Happy New Year! Would you have an alternate Metrorail with blue skies? THis one is good but sorta cloudy and gray looking. Postoak (talk) 23:58, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
Happy New Year to you too. I can make the sky look blue is that okay? (Hequals2henry (talk) 00:00, 5 January 2012 (UTC))
In fact I just did that and replaced the file with the newer version. (Hequals2henry (talk) 00:08, 5 January 2012 (UTC))
- Looks good. You know, I think the original Galleria pic looks better...it shows how massive the place it a little better than the newer image. Postoak (talk) 03:37, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
- Never mind, cancel that. I see that it's in the montage. Postoak (talk) 03:38, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
I just felt it's a bit darker, but I'm fine with both pics. Change it back if you feel necessary. Do whatever you want to. (Hequals2henry (talk) 03:42, 5 January 2012 (UTC))
Template:Largest Metropolitan Areas of the United States
[edit]Instead of edit warring, you need to start communicating about this. I've explained very clearly in edit summary why the addition of more images to the template is not desirable. If you feel so strongly about changing the status quo in this way, you need to make your case on the template's Talk page and see if you can convince other engaged editors. And if you can't, you need to accept that and move on. Per our policy on WP:Edit warring, multiple reverts--especially when you're not communicating at all about them--will ultimately get you blocked. I believe your edits, however misguided, have been made in good faith--so consider this a sincere warning. DocKino (talk) 23:45, 8 January 2012 (UTC)
I wasn't aware at all that there is such a custom. I'm sorry. I just felt Chicago deserved to be shown. I give up. (Hequals2henry (talk) 04:09, 9 January 2012 (UTC))
Photo request
[edit]Hi Henry! I'm working outside of Houston for a moment. If you are currently in Houston, would you mind taking a photo of the "Wild Smiles Dental Center"? Its a member of the Small Smiles Dental Centers chain. It is at 5720- D Bellaire Blvd. Houston , TX 77081 - Google Maps shows its location here
Thanks, WhisperToMe (talk) 12:55, 7 February 2012 (UTC)
Sorry WhisperToMe but I am usually in Boston and only spend summers in Houston. I am sure there are other talents out there. (Hequals2henry (talk) 07:43, 8 February 2012 (UTC))
- Ah, okay! Now, would you be open to doing photo requests in Boston? There are some things there that could be useful WhisperToMe (talk) 16:53, 9 February 2012 (UTC)

Well you know what THANK YOU for noticing me this time instead of rudely deleting it without telling me about it like first time. You think that's polite and appropraite? (Hequals2henry (talk) 04:50, 13 February 2012 (UTC))
- I didn't delete it the first time - Chrishmt0423 did here[1]. If another image on the Commons is approved there so that it can be put here, believe me it will be. Until then, we can only use images that have proper licensing. Sorry for any misunderstandings :> Doc talk 04:55, 13 February 2012 (UTC)
- And my edit summary calling you "copyvio boy" was indeed rude, and I apologize for that. Doc talk 04:59, 13 February 2012 (UTC)

Hero Tree
[edit]Henry,
Did you take a photo of the hero tree at Meyerland Plaza and/or the plaque? They cut the tree down :(
