Census and estimated populations
[edit]I reverted your edits to Port Charlotte, Florida because you did not cite a source for the 2019 population figures, and because you changed the population figure in the infobox, but not in the lead paragraph. It is customary in Wikipedia articles about places in the U.S. to provide the population figure from the most recent U.S. Census in both the infobox and in the text of the article. If the Census Bureau has issued a population estimate for the place since the most recent census, then the estimate, appropriately labeled, may also be provided in the infobox and in the text. Both population figures should be supported by citations to reliable sources, which for the population figures should be the appropriate table on the U.S. Census website. Population estimates from other reputable sources may also be included in the text of the article, attributed to, and with citations to, such sources. If you are familiar with the formatting of citations, provide the information about where you found the information as best as you can, and someone will undoubtedly happen by and fix up the citations.
