Hello, Hellisay

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Викидим, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, International Nuremberg Principles Academy, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Викидим}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!

@Викидим: Thank you for your comments and advice on the article International Nuremberg Principles Academy. I have already started to make changes and will be happy to continue, but I am currently working very late and can only do this bit by bit, especially the wording. For the article in the German wiki (my first after only contributing with editing before), I discussed relevance, structure and wording with the tutors. They gave a few suggestions for improvement (applied), but had no objections. I therefore assumed that it would also be suitable in this form for the English-language wiki. However, I am happy to adapt the article as suggested. Best, Hellisay Hellisay (talk) 20:44, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This is a "proposed deletion" (WP:PROD), so contesting it is easy: just remove the PROD header from the article.
It might be useful to understand the problems, though. The main issue is "notability": is the organization important enough to warrant an article in Wikipedia? The general principle here is: to be "notable", organization should have other people write about it in influential publications, so called "significant coverage" (WP:SIGCOV). The sources in the article so far IMHO do not provide anything close:
  1. Everyone can write anything on their own Website or even elsewhere about themselves and their employer (being "affiliated"), so, naturally, this cannot count towards notability
  2. Everyone can write anything in a press release for $100 or so, so this, again, can not count for notability
  3. Sometimes there is an article where the subject is just mentioned ("X from Academy said that ..."). Naturally, this "mere mention" does not count, too
Once we disregard all these, there is almost nothing left that warrants an article here at this point in time. So, before proceeding with removing the PROD header, it might be useful to figure out where the significant coverage is coming from. Викидим (talk) 21:57, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
