Wikiproject removal

Which articles are you referring to? ISD (talk) 17:38, 22 July 2009 (UTC)

Yes, I removed the WikiProjects from the episodes after someone on the Simpsons WikiProject suggested I do it for them. I decided to extend this to all comedy WikiProjects and de-tag all their episodes. No-one has yet talked about removing the WikiProjects from other related topics such as characters and so on. You may want to bring this up on the comedy WikiProject talk page. ISD (talk) 07:20, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

Image deletion at mlwiki

Hi

Please refer to this at mlwiki. The duplicate file has been deleted. Thank you --Vssun (talk) 13:11, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

DYK

I wanted to note that I responded here. I am using standard referencing for fully cited pages, in which a reference denotes the source of information for all preceding sentences until the previous reference. The hook also spans those sentences (and technically the whole paragraph). If you would like information on the physical source and what it specifically says, I can provide that. Rajya sabha seat

12 or 16 notable members of society are nominated to Rajya sabha. They should NOT be in active politics. They are not policitians by defn. Lata Mangeshkar was nominated to RS, but she is not a politician. --Redtigerxyz Talk 12:44, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

Pictures

Its been long I have stopped editing Wikipedia, so was not able to check your messages. I think the policies have changed a lot.. Some the images were from my personal camera (of my hometown) but still they have been deleted. Is there any way of getting them back? --IndianCow Talk 09:20, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Hi. You changed the rating on the Sharon Kay Penman article from B to C. I'd taken the article from a stub that needed copy-editing and completely reworked it. I've now rewritten the lead as well. If you get a chance will you have a look? Thanks. Truthkeeper88 (talk) 22:36, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for the reformatting. What are "fattened" novel names -- not to sound too stupid? Truthkeeper88 (talk) 23:26, 30 July 2009 (UTC)
Sorry, please disregard above. You mean bold text. Truthkeeper88 (talk) 23:38, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Re: Release the Stars

Thanks for the offer! I went ahead and nominated both Release the Stars and Poses. I appreciate the encouragement--I was hoping for FA status, but would certainly go for Good status in the meantime. --Another Believer (Talk) 04:23, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

GA Sweeps August update

Thanks to everyone's dedicated efforts to the GA Sweeps process, a total of 215 articles were swept in July! We are currently nearly 80% done with Sweeps, with under 600 articles left to review. With 50 members, that averages out to about 12 articles per person. Once the remaining articles drop to 100, I'll help in reviewing the last articles (I'm currently taking a break). If each member reviews an article every other day this month (or several!), we'll be completely finished. Again, I want to thank you for using your time to ensure the quality of the older GAs. Feel free to recruit other editors who have reviewed GANs in the past and might be interested in the process. The more editors, the less the workload, and hopefully the faster this will be completed. If you have any questions about reviews or the process let me know and I'll be happy to get back to you. Again, thank you for taking the time to help with the process, I appreciate your efforts! --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 19:27, 1 August 2009 (UTC)

Carnatic music

Saw that you've been cleaning up after me on a few pages. Can you also take a look at Bombay Sisters also? I'm going to be creating a few stubs for Carnatic musicians in the near future - my create wish list is at User:SpacemanSpiff/S3. cheers. -SpacemanSpiffCalvinHobbes 16:42, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Ha, I didn't think of that. I'll keep that in mind for the future stubs, to send a note to either the artistes or the management company for pictures. cheers -SpacemanSpiffCalvinHobbes 23:15, 3 August 2009 (UTC)

Peer review comments on Theodore Lukens

Thank you for taking the time to review and comment on this article. I have tried to address each comment, but need clarification about short paragraphs-which section(s) are you referring to? Updated DYK query On August 8, 2009, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Brij Narayan, which you created or substantially expanded. You are welcome to check how many hits your article got while on the front page (here's how) and add it to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

FA for Otto Julius Zobel

You made some comments at the FAC for Otto Julius Zobel which was not promoted. Although your specific comments (on persondata) were addressed, you did not return to either support or oppose the article. Can I ask what changes would induce you to support this article at a FAC, if indeed you would? SpinningSpark 17:14, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

It's not really all that interesting... suffice to say I was being playfully patronizing to someone, but then realized they had logged off and thus there was no point to leaving it there for people to take as a serious comment :)

Bill Bradbury photo

Regarding this: Jgilhousen (talk · contribs) has been retired from Wikipedia for some time. However, the photo's page includes a clear breakdown of who agreed to what. At the time when John Mark uploaded the photo, OTRS either did not exist, or was not known to him or to the local community. If you're so inclined, it would be excellent if you could simply try to contact the people in question (Mary Conley and/or Bill Bradbury) and simply advise them in sending an appropriate message to OTRS.

Of course, Bradbury is now out of office, which would make the project difficult, but not impossible. -Pete (talk) 12:33, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

Peer review

Okay, thanks. Is it okay to list it in both? And also, do you know if it's okay to list it in Peer Review and GA at the same time? Thanks. --Zoeydahling (talk) 17:23, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

Do I need to close the Bio review first or can I just go ahead and add it to the normal PR? --Zoeydahling (talk) 17:55, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
Thanks for your help! One last question though, just to make sure, once I am ready to go ahead and do the GA review, I should close both PRs, right? How do I go about doing this? Thanks so much!!! --Zoeydahling (talk) 20:24, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
Okay, thanks again. --Zoeydahling (talk) 20:31, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

Aishwarya Dhanush Notability

Hi Hekerui, Aishwarya Dhanush is not notable because of her husband Dhanush receiving kalaimamani. Infact she is notable because of her relationship with Dhanush and Rajinikanth only. Is there anywhere which cites this notability? Thanks. VegPuff poke 09:54, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, I Apologize for the misunderstanding. But South Indians are not called by their surnames, they are Patronymic and hence shouldn't be referred as Dhanush. Probably, Mrs. Dhanush will add more clarity to it? VegPuff poke 13:14, 8 September 2009 (UTC)

Hmmmmm, you are correct. I've taken the quick approach here and deleted all images from that tainted flickr account + dealt with the non-free image issue. Thanks for the note - Peripitus (Talk) 11:12, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

Thanks to you, I learned about using the OTRS pending template, about the need for me to request deletion of orphaned images and about the pitfalls of uploading derivative work of a copyright work (the Joe Howe billboard photo). Copying with Wikipedia

Hi. I see you recently split text from Jhala into Jhala (clan). While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in edit summary at the page into which you've copied content. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to make a note in an edit summary at the source page as well. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. Unless you are the sole content contributor of the original article, this attribution is necessary to comply with the Wikimedia Foundation's "Terms of Use". Please feel free to drop by my talk page if you have any questions about the procedure or the reasons behind it. :) Thanks. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 21:18, 7 October 2009 (UTC)
