SNEHA SHARMA

At a young age of sixteen, she was determined to follow her dream. Meet Sneha Sharma, a passionate formula race car driver who put her motorsport on hold to pursue a career as flying pilot.

A full-time pilot with Indigo airline, Sneha resumed her racing career in 2014. The Mumbai based teenager said, “Racing is not an easy sport”, as she has to carry her books wherever she races.

For taking up racing assignments, Sneha often had verbal spats with her parents. She even fabricated stories to go in pursuit of her zeal. Not only had that she had to scale the neighborhood walls on many occasions to carry out her practice.

Sneha is commonly known as India’s fastest lady as she proudly stood top 5 in ‘Mercedes Young Star Driver’ program driving the Mercedes E63 AMG at 260 Kmph. Sheha secured 6 race victories and 9 runner-up positions in Karting. She even scored a top 4 finish in her very first Formula Car Race. She has also finished 2nd in the year 2009 of the JK tyres National four-stroke championship. In her very short racing career, Sneha became the only youngster to qualify into final round of the KCT of the MAI National Karting Championship.

Sneha got her first break in one of the national teams while pursuing her flying course. She used to participate in the local racing events in Mumbai and would often clock the fastest lap of the day.

Since then, she never looked back. She had been spotted at various motor racing events at ease with men all around and giving them a really tough time. It was in 2009, she did secure a podium finish in her first Rotax rookie race. Recently, she has secured a lap time of 40 seconds at 11th JK Tyre-FMSC National Karting Championship 2014. Sneha is the only driver to be sponsored by Indigo airlines and JK tyres for the Formula 4 National Racing Championship.
