discography need

Have you finished setting up this page? It seems that this page may be used for every random artist that has no discography when I intended it as a place to call attention to oversights of significant artists. I do not know the latest addition (Julie Driscoll), but had hoped for a different set of artists being added. I will have little control over how the page is used so I should just be glad it is up and running. Why is her name not being added alphabetically? Can this page now be used with some sort of {{}} command?TonyTheTiger 23:01, 12 October 2006 (UTC)

P.S. I meant the above as no slap to Ms. Driscoll. It is just that all the artists I originally included had numerous Platinum albums, Grammy awards, gold albums or grammy nominations. I do not find references to any such celebrity on her page.TonyTheTiger 23:04, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
I see, that is a good idea. It would be better to have only higher priority articles in the article. Otherwise almost all the musicians will be in the category. I will create a template to be added and better specify the requirements for the category. – Heaven's Wrath   Talk  01:09, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

re: Musician/Guitarist infobox situation

Hey man, thanks for the note. This whole situtation has blown up to bigger proportions than it needed to, definitely. Turns out all of us are peaceful dudes who just want to make good articles. :) I'll write more tomorrow, but yes, let's work toward merging the templates and not making more work for ourselves. --Aguerriero (talk) 04:08, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

Discography Template

All the template additions are being added to T alphabetically. Please fix the template at your convenience. Also, why is the template itself showing on the list? TonyTheTiger 23:53, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

Whoops, sorry about that. I will try to look into it tonight. – Heaven's Wrath   Talk  23:53, 19 October 2006 (UTC)
I reviewed the template, but there was nothing wrong. It is not possible to automatically sort be last names, so the template requires an optional parameter to sort correctly. If no parameter is set, the article is added to the category by the first letter of the page's title. Since the template is added to the talk page, they will all be grouped by T. See my edits to the articles you recently added as an example. – Heaven's Wrath   Talk  00:20, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Image:Yung Joc.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Yung Joc.JPG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Yamla 18:12, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

November Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature: Admin Coaching (needs coaches!)
Admin Coaching needs coaches!!! If you are an administrator, or even a generally experienced user, do consider signing up to be a coach.

Admin Coaching, now being coordinated by HighwayCello, is a program for people who want help learning some of the more subtle aspects of Wikipedia policy and culture. People are matched with experienced users who are willing to offer coaching. The program is designed for people who have figured out the basics of editing articles; they're not newcomers any more, but they might want some help in learning new roles. In this way, Esperanza would help keep hope alive for Wikipedia because we would always be grooming the next generation of admins.

What's New?
The Tutorial Drive is a new Esperanza program! In an effort to make complicated processes on Wikipedia easier for everyone, Esperanza working to create and compile a list of tutorials about processes here on Wikipedia. Consider writing one!
A discussion on how Esperanza relates to the encyclopedia has been started; please add your thoughts.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  • The list of proposed programs has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
  • There is now a new program: the Tutorial Drive! Consider writing a tutorial on something you are good at doing on Wikipedia.
  • The suggestion of adding a cohesive look to all the Esperanza pages is being considered; join the discussion if you are interested!
  • In order to make a useful interlanguage welcome template, those involved in translation projects will be asked what English Wikipedia policies are most important and confusing to editors coming from other language Wikipedias.
  • A discussion of Esperanza's role in Wikipedia is being held, with all thoughts of all Esperanzians wanted!
  • Shreshth91 informed everyone that he will be leaving the Esperanza council as life is rather busy; his spot will be filled by the runner up from the last election, HighwayCello.

Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.

Signature

That's some sig you have there (over 440 characters when in the edit page). Have you considered shortening it? *Spark* 01:27, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I just have not gotten round to it yet. I do realize that it is hundreds of characters over the accepted limit. I will hopefully come up with some new ideas (that are a lot shorter) in the next couple of days. I was unaware of the limit when I first created it. – Heaven's Wrath   Talk  01:30, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

FIF template

On the Five Iron Frenzy template, should the albums be (as they are) in alphabetical order by category, or rather in chronological order? I think the latter, but I won't change it for everyone. Scoutersig 21:52, 18 November 2006 (UTC)

The template should have the albums listed chronologically. I did not even look at it when I added it to the article. Good catch. – Heaven's Wrath   Talk  04:32, 19 November 2006 (UTC)

WP Musicians Userbox

Hello Heaven's Wrath, since you are the Project Leader of the Musicians WikiProject I thought I had better run this by you. I have made a userbox for the project:

This user is a member of WikiProject Musicians.

(Which can be found at {{User:Thereen/WPMusiciansUserbox}} )

I was hoping for your permission to distribute it. Thank you for your consideration, Thereen 06:11, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

That is a good idea, I had made one myself, here, but never finished it. A userbox is always a good way to encourage and advertise the project. I have added a new section on the main page with both of our boxes. Thanks! – Heaven's Wrath   Talk  23:10, 7 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi HW. You rated this article once before. I've done some more work to it - maybe good -- maybe bad -- but wondered if you could take another look because I have a lot of respect for your opinion. I nominated it for GA - but maybe I'm off base - and knew you could tell me honestly. Thanks. Cricket02 20:33, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

Responded on Talk:Bradley Joseph. – Heaven's Wrath   Talk  21:49, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
Thanks so much for your time here. I had a question about the discography section. You say: "I was a little surprised by the tables' colors. Is there any reason not to use "class=wikitable"? Also, the professional reviews would be best linked to from an album's article page." I used the class=wikitable before (see [1]) but then found this most recent table and copied from another article - it was much more compact and not so bulky. (see [2]). Maybe I could take the colors out and the "label" section out and still have the same effect? Or should I just go with just listing the year and album now that there are album articles now? Also, I initially included professional reviews for the sake of providing reliable outside sources to establish notability and before I actually created the individual album articles. I kind of like it as it provides kind of a cross-reference but if you feel it better to come out - no problem. Cricket02 23:15, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
Thanks again for all your help HW! And thanks too for the barnstar.  :) Merry Christmas! Cricket02 02:31, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

B-day Templates

I have seen your contributions for the B-day Commity and therefore have a questions to ask you, if you don't mind. The questions is: since when did everyone start making personalized templates instead of using the ones supllyed in the BDC? I noticed you had one and I do (because I wanted Bearly to still "participate" on his absence), but when did "everyone" else start?. Thanks and could you respond on my talk page? —¡Randfan! 02:32, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Responded on User talk:Randfan (link) per request. – Heaven's Wrath   Talk  19:35, 17 December 2006 (UTC)
Thanks! That did answer the question (very well, mind you). I like our template. Thanks again! —¡Randfan! 21:31, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Joining your music crusade

Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself. I saw your comment on my suggestion tonight and that led me to finding out about you. I have been diligently working on Infoboxes at work and love the advancement of the infoboxes for musician and bands as of late. I would love to take this momentum and work on an Infobox for music venues. I cannot find one in existence, so please let me know if I am wrong. I take my inspiration from all the venues I have looked up, none of them have an appropriate Infobox, if one at all. Take for example: The Roxy, The Limelight, Viper Room, Knitting Factory, 9:30 Club, Electric Factory... and so on... what do you think? After that, I would like to tackle Music Festivals. And on a side note, I love your layout of your user page. I rarely work on the design of my user page anymore, but I might add to some of the "flair" in the New Year. -- immunity 02:00, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

My apologizes, I have been working on college applications, and had forgotten to respond to this message. First off, thanks for the comments. I think it would be a good idea to add an infobox to those articles, although I would like to see them expanded too. I cannot seem to find any infoboxes that are too similar. Are there any you had in mind to use, or a design you would like? We should probably form a larger group of these venues if we want to make a new infobox for them. – Heaven's Wrath   Talk  22:31, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

Protocol

I have never seen such a note, but I had been stressed with the copy of Get Lifted that I made for my iPod because it sounded like the 6th selection was cut off. I am visiting my mother for the holidays and her original album actually has this exact problem. I am not sure how to properly note such a problem if at all. However, this song actually is only 3:18 with an unclean ending. What would you recommend? TonyTheTiger 05:45, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

I am not sure what you mean, by an unclean ending. iTunes and All Music Guide think "Number One" is only 3:18. Does the track seem to cut short? – Heaven's Wrath   Talk  12:40, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
I got my hands on a copy of this song. You are right. It does seem to cut out before the song had faded out. But what from I can see, it is like that on every release, so I would not necessarily consider that a problem. I guess a simple note of that could be added in the introduction or a background section. – Heaven's Wrath   Talk  00:52, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Erik Mongrain's bio page

Hi: New to Wikipedia, so don't know what I'm doing (hoping you're an editor?). I think there should be a link to/from Erik Mongrain's page and Stanley Jordan's page, as both cover a lot of similar territory. What do you think? --Funksobruva 20:54, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
