Username and conflict of interest
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created McAndrews, Held & Malloy, and I noticed that your username, "Healyandschulte", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website.
I was sent an e-mail the contents of which are copied below.
Hi Velella,
My name is Jeff and I work at a PR agency called Finn Partners. I'm reaching out to you because I see that you've made edits to the McAndrews, Held & Malloy Wikipedia page in the past. We're currently working with them to remove and correct some flagged edits from their page and thought you might be interested in assisting us in this task. We want to ensure we adhere to Wikipedia community standards by not making the changes as the agency, and instead are seeking help cleaning up the page from editors like yourself. If you’d be willing to make edits to the page please either respond here or reach out to me directly at jeff.malin@finnpartners.com. If there is any more information I can pass along, please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks,
Jeff
The company mentioned in the e-mail, Finn Partners, merged with Healy and Schulte here.
Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a change of username, by completing this form, that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. Velella Velella Talk 08:39, 14 September 2016 (UTC)
You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.
If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page.
You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Thank you. -- Ed (Edgar181) 19:22, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
