Hey
[edit]Saw you working on Ken Kesey and Furthur and thought I'd give you a shout. I'm modestly interested in your new wikiproject although I fear it'd be too technical for me. I'd be more interested in something like a, say, Wikipedia:Wikiproject Counterculture. Anyway, keep up the good stuff. · Katefan0(scribble) 03:22, July 29, 2005 (UTC)
Re: put back "food of the gods" link. why is this link "questionable"?
[edit]That book is still in print so this seemed relevant, but I don't mind.
metacine
[edit](Response to your post on my talk page)
- Hey Heah! Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. You may want to check out Daniel Pinchbeck's forums for a taste of some of what is going into Metacine. And of course, the info at the Metacine.net site might be generally informative. Daniel is currently at Burning Man and they're doing some filming for a Metacine DVD project. The web project is still not quite ready for a wiki yet, despite my enthusiasm for the idea, so stay tuned for more info! — FJ | hello 01:41, September 1, 2005 (UTC)

[edit]Once again, thanks a bunch for your well-sourced contributions. We meet again on the entheogens. :)--chris.lawson 22:02, 23 October 2005 (UTC)
Hi! Thanks for commenting on my talk page. Well, that bot just brings them up on the screen--unfortunately, it was my poor judgement on the link to choose. I see that you corrected the three that you left on my talk page. Most of them dabs that I worked on were specifc to hard drug, soft drug or recreational drug use. After getting into more technical articles, I found that my skills didn't help ;-), and stopped working on them. Any further thoughts or comments you may have are apprecited. >: Roby Wayne Talk 04:48, 2 November 2005 (UTC)
Your broken signature

Re: signature problems...
[edit]Hi. Maybe Uncle G's suggestion helped you with your signature. I don't even know how to automate mine, I just type -~~~([[User talk:GTBacchus|talk]]) ~~~~~ every time. I think there must be a shortcut, but I've never felt all that compelled to work it out. -GTBacchus(talk) 08:16, 4 December 2005 (UTC)

Re: ayahuasca/maois
[edit]Hi Heah, nice to hear from you! I removed it from the MAOI category because Harmala (the MAOI part of Ayahuasca) was already listed in the MAOI category. I figured that we didn't need to re-iterate it with the combination Ayahuasca. Also, I figured that the main effect of Ayahuasca is for hallucinogenic/entheogenic use, as opposed to the MAOI effects. Uthbrian 22:01, 14 December 2005 (UTC)
Cool... I definitely agree with your edit-- replace "ayahuasca" with harmaline on the MAOI template. I guess I feel more comfortable having specific chemical names & plant species. I went ahead and removed ayahuasca from the MAOI cat. It's quite interesting to discuss this specific entheogen. I first heard about this mixture in grad school when I was reading about melatonin, then DMT... long story :-) Uthbrian 23:41, 14 December 2005 (UTC)

Herbal & fungal categories
[edit]Hi Heah; I've been going through the articles listed in Herbal & fungal drugs/medicines, Herbal & fungal stimulants and Herbal & fungal hallucinogens, and many of the articles don't belong. The category titles imply that the articles contained are accepted medications, none of which are. On that note, medicinal plants is a more appropriate category for the articles, because the plants have medicinal effects. Also, & should not be in the titles, see Wikipedia:Naming conventions (categories). I'm going to nominate these categories for CfD shortly; I'm just giving you a heads up. --CDN99 19:22, 19 December 2005 (UTC)
- Well, nobody is voting at CfD for the category....so, what about a new name: Medicinal herbs and fungi? "Drugs" should be taken from the title; this isn't a cultural bias, a person with tuberculosis in Angola would know that isoniazid is a drug, but that thorn scrub tea is not (although it might have medicinal effects). Since it's your project, and you probably know more about it than me, I'll leave it to you and your project members. Merry Christmas! --CDN99 18:29, 22 December 2005 (UTC)
Hi, this image was lacking any kind of copyright tagging. Seeing as it's aparently a picture of your late pet-rat so I tagged it as GFDL presumed, if this is correct please change the tag to {{GFDL-self}} or apply another suitable copyright tag. Please also check any other images you have uploaded and make sure that they have both a proper source and copyright tagging on them. Other images might not be so easy to identify, and images with unknown source or copyright statis are speedy deletion candidates after beeing "flagged" for at least 7 days. Thanks. --Sherool (talk) 04:39, 21 December 2005 (UTC)

herbal/fungal
[edit]Do you mean should things like cannabis or opium be included under the new name Medicinal...? I'd consider psychoactives to be "medicinal," even if they aren't used for a medicinal purpose. --CDN99 22:06, 1 January 2006 (UTC)

Vote for drug chart
[edit]Hi Heah :) Happy Holidays and Happy New Year :) I was wondering if you might be up to voting for my psychoactive drug chart on Wikipedia featured picture candidates? --Thoric 18:52, 2 January 2006 (UTC)

NekoDaemon bot request
[edit]hi, category:Herbal & fungal drugs/medicines went through the speedy renaming process some days ago and should now be category:Medicinal herbs and fungi; two subcats should be changed accordingly too, category:Herbal & fungal hallucinogens and Category:Herbal & fungal stimulants. i put up the redirect templates last night, expecting it all to change, but now i see that an admin needs to have made the last edit and i'm not an admin. so is there some way you can make your bot change it anyways, considering its a valid, WP:CFD approved changed? I'd rather not have to go through hundreds of articles to make the change manually. thanks a lot. --Heah talk 17:20, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
- Another user has already made the requested changes, as all the categories you've given me is empty. --AllyUnion (talk) 22:48, 8 January 2006 (UTC)
British usage the standard on Wikipedia?
[edit]I just want some clarification if this is consensus policy. I was under the impression that only consistency within the article was important. The article Socrates is written and was originally written in American English. There are other examples of non-British English in the article. Someone changed this one sentence to reflect British rather than American English, creating inconsistency. This is only acceptable if British English is consensus policy. I cannot revert it myself to make it consistent due to the three revert rule. Please either change it back, or affirm that it is correct consensus Wikipedia policy to Anglicize articles and then review the rest of the article to make it internally consistent. The American words I caught were Anglicize (ironically enough), idealize, and stabilize, but I am by no means an expert and there may be more. Argyrios 07:11, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
- Also "learned." I am sure that there are also subtle grammatical issues. I look forward to your overhaul or revert. Argyrios 07:24, 11 January 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the info... I learned something too. If "an" is acceptable before "historical" in formal writing, I see no need to change it so long as it isn't inconsistent. Happy editing to you as well! Argyrios 09:34, 11 January 2006 (UTC)

Hoo dilly, goin' back a month on that one. Looking at it again, I still believe that there is no meaningful content - while there is similar material between the deleted content and 2012 section on Theories of apocalypticism and/or spiritual transformation, it is minimal and the latter is decidedly more substantive while the former is mostly gibberish and copyvio of a religious website. You are probably better off just forking 2012 section on Theories of apocalypticism and/or spiritual transformation into a new 2012 Apocalyptic theories or writing a new version as it would be better than what I speedied. --Jeffrey O. OK, your turn
[edit]I added Socratic dialogues to Template:Platonism and filled in Socratic dialogues with something appropriate as a starter kit, if you will. The actual content of Socratic method is all about the method, by whatever name, and not the litererature as a whole - the books - which is what Socratic dialogues can discuss. The literature as individual books is of course covered in each of their own articles. So, your turn. I'm going to go to sleep now. Cheers. WAS 4.250 05:31, 6 February 2006 (UTC)

Cannabis cats
[edit]Hi. Yes, there is overlap between the two cats, but I think we can fix this. Basically, I've been going through Category:Activism for the past month or so trying to cleanup and sort activists by topic. If you think the cannabis activists category should be a subcat of legal reform, I don't have a problem with that; I would prefer to keep activists in activist cats and legal reform topics in legal reform, but if you have a better solution that preserves the activists by topic subcat, go with it. —Viriditas | Talk 07:19, 12 February 2006 (UTC)

Gonzales v. UDV
[edit]I wanted to thank you for your nice comments and let you know I responded on the article's talk page. I agree with you in that the UDV will likely agree, but my or your opinon doesn't really matter as Wikipedia needs to be based on statements that are able to be cited. I am going to be adding a lot more information to this page as this case will likely be a significant Free Exercise case, like Employment Division v. Smith. Look forward to editing with you. Article Assessment
[edit]I was just reading about this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Article_assessment
I was wondering if you wanted to nominate Psychedelics as a topic for article assessment, then nominate some individual articles for assessment within that topic. It might be a good way of assessing the strengths and weaknesses of articles in this category, and maybe bring in a few more potential contributors. Peter G Werner 07:04, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
Psychedelic experience
[edit]Yes, I noticed the tags today... I know the page needs work, so will have to see what the guy thinks should be changed. I don't see how anyone who hasn't had a psychedelic experience can say much about it... basically Wikipedians have to read published articles on the topic, and summarize the information. --Thoric 19:44, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
What's the best image copyright tag for the evidence?
[edit]I became the victim of article deletion due to lack of evidence (verifibility). My article was about the upcoming Mr. Mystery but got tagged and deleted. I decided to ask you this question because, looking at your user page, you also had articles that were written and deleted (In fact, on the article that you wrote about Timewave Zero, it redirected into Novelity Theory.). We all know that deleted articles and edits made by us count as deleted edits in Kate's Tool and the article deletion gave me my first deleted edit.
On to the question: I have the evidence that it's coming up but the evidence is printed into the book and the credits near the beginning of the book says that:
All rights reserved. No part of this publication may be reproduced or transmitted in any form or by any means, electronic or mechanical, including photocopy, recording, or any information storage or retrieval system, without written permission from Flame Of The Forest Publishing Pte Ltd.
Since that damned evidence is printed into the book, I'm reluctant to upload it due to the copyright. Thus, I can't save my Mr. Mystery article from deletion. I really feel forced to upload the evidence (Plus the cover for Mr. Midnight #1). Can you please tell me the appropriate image copyright tag for those pictures I'm proposing to upload? Pls. reply on my talk page. Thank you. --Bruin rrss23 09:58, 9 March 2006 (UTC)
