Odd AAlertBot Edit
The AAlertBot made these edits this morning (which I just noticed). As of this writing and going back to 2018, it's never been marked with a Wikiproject Virginia or West Virginia template. So, I'm confused....like a lot confused. A bug, maybe? I'll let you figure that one out. - Neutralhomer • Talk • 20:57 on January 3, 2021 (UTC) • #WearAMask • #BlackLivesMatter
- @Neutralhomer: If you look at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/2006 Arizona's 1st congressional district election, you'll see it's been tagged as a Virginia and West Virginia-related discussion. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 21:41, 3 January 2021 (UTC)
- I didn't look at the discussion itself, only at that one article. That's where I got stuck. That makes MUCH more sense now. :) - Neutralhomer • Talk • 21:46 on January 3, 2021 (UTC) • #WearAMask • #BlackLivesMatter
Tools for predatory/unreliable sources? Comment
I noticed (and am thankful) you made this edit that removed material from and a citation to a predatory source. Do you have any resources or tools that help in checking for these? For my curiosity I did find the publisher, Intech Open, on a list of predatory publishers and journals, but I can't imagine doing so manually for every citation behind every odd-looking statement I come across. I'm sure you're all too familiar with this type of material, stuff that seems like the work of an advertiser or a breathless overenthusiastic fan. The hard work is following up on those verifiability and sourcing doubts. --Anon423 (talk) 10:55, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Anon423: You can check WP:UPSD to detect things as you read them / edit regularly, and WP:CITEWATCH, and User:JzG/Predatory if you want to actively search for citations to predatory sources. They don't pick up everything, but they pickup a lot.
- BTW predatoryjournals.com is an unmaintained mirror of Beall's original list. I suggest using https://beallslist.net instead, which is much more user friendly and easily searchable. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 17:06, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
I've corrected this redirect.
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wireless_Communications_%26_Mobile_Computing&redirect=no
It seemed like vandalism, to redirect Wireless Communications to a list of Hindawi academic journals!

- The redirect is for Wireless Communications & Mobile Computing, which is a Hindawi journal. I've undo your redirect because your rationale makes no sense. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 00:54, 23 January 2021 (UTC)
Your "unreliable"
Wow! That "unreliable" script you wrote is fantastic! Thanks for putting it together and making it available to the rest of us!
(And please pardon the usage pun in the header—I couldn't resist.) Cheers! — UncleBubba ( T @ C ) 22:09, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
