Merger discussion for Plant communication

An article that you have been involved in editing—Plant communication —has been proposed for merging with another article. If you are interested, please participate in the merger discussion. Thank you. Edaham (talk) 01:12, 7 November 2017 (UTC)

You have received this message as you are one of the most recent names in either the source or destination article's history page. This proposal serves two purposes, namely

  1. To suggest a merge (obviously) of the overlapping material
  2. To draw attention to the source article (the info to be merged into the destination article, which requires expansion)

Many thanks for your time! Edaham (talk) 01:13, 7 November 2017 (UTC)

Skeptic (disambiguation)

Hello Headbomb. Your edits to Skeptic (disambiguation) are marked as copyediting, but I think what you've really done is merged The Skeptic with Skeptic (disambiguation). Shouldn't you now apply {{merged-from}} and {{merged-to}} tags per Wikipedia:Merging#How to merge ? In the meantime I have removed the circular See also link. Regards, Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 05:03, 8 November 2017 (UTC)

Yeah, the edit summary should have read 'Mergef from The Skeptic', but then I think I previewed and done some copyediting and went with that edit summary instead by mistake. I've tagged the talk pages. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 13:36, 8 November 2017 (UTC)

American Entomologist vs The American Entomologist

American Entomologist is a quarterly journal published by the Entomological Society of America whose first volume was issued in 1955.

The American Entomologist was a monthly journal whose first issue was published in 1868 -- before the ESA was even founded.

They are not the same journal; they do not have he same title. One should not make a redirect from the latter to the organization affiliated with the former.

Umimmak (talk) 02:45, 14 November 2017 (UTC)

Hmm I see. That was a very confusing situation. I'll fix the redirect if you haven't done so already. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 02:49, 14 November 2017 (UTC)
You created the redirect so I'll let you decide what you want to do with it. Umimmak (talk) 03:04, 14 November 2017 (UTC)
At this point, The American Entomologist is a likely search term for that publication, what we really need to do is create a disambiguation page for it. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 03:12, 14 November 2017 (UTC)
Is it? AFAICT the "The American Entomologist" doesn't ever refer to the ESA journal in Wikipedia articles. For instance in Mary Treat, Schizomyia viticola, Benjamin Dann Walsh, Charles Valentine Riley (These last two mistakenly referred to it as "The American Entomologist", not "The American Entomologist" though; I'll fix those), they're all referring to the 19th century journal. I don't see any articles mistakenly using "The American Entomologist" to refer to the ESA publication, so I'm no sure how useful a page at The American Entomologist would be. Boys' Life

Boys' Life is correct, not Boy's Life as you are changing it to. Rmhermen (talk) 18:51, 14 November 2017 (UTC)

Yeah good catch. Not quite sure why I screwed up the fix. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 20:00, 14 November 2017 (UTC)

New Page Reviewing

Hello, Headbomb.

I've seen you editing recently and you seem knowledgeable about Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
Would you please consider becoming a New Page Reviewer? Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; currently Wikipedia needs experienced users at this task. (After gaining the flag, patrolling is not mandatory. One can do it at their convenience). But kindly read the tutorial before making your decision. Thanks. — Insertcleverphrasehere (or here) 09:33, 28 November 2017 (UTC)

AAlertBot

The bot should probably mark edits that are "No major changes" as minor. I hope I'm clear, here's a diff. umbolo 09:45, 29 November 2017 (UTC)

Mention it at WP:AALERTS/FR, then User:Hellknowz can pick it up. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 12:33, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
