Just as an FYI - this doesn't seem to qualify for G1. jj137 (talk) 04:27, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
- I'd say it would have been A1-- notice that G1 does not include poor writing, more things like "sdhcshdgbhsfvjh". jj137 (talk) 14:47, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

Your rollback request
[edit]Hello Hda3ku, I have granted your account rollback in accordance with your request. Please remember that rollback should only be used to revert obvious vandalisn; and that misuse of the tool, either by reverting good-faith edits or revert-warring, can lead to it being removed. For practice, you may wish to see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback. Good luck. Acalamari 16:51, 14 October 2008 (UTC)

Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
[edit]SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- SuggestBot (talk) 22:39, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
Re:
[edit]Okay, i rollbacked it because after a lenghty discussion on IRC, i proposed that DEFCON should be at 2 until User:Cluebot is back up. User:Cluebot is the best anti-vandalism bot on Wikipedia. There are a bunch of others, but none as fast as User:Cluebot. --Mixwell!Talk 00:26, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

Image without license
[edit]Unspecified source/license for Image:IM logo.svg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:IM logo.svg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}}
(to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Re: Jessica Alba
[edit]It's not a notable part of her life or career. And it's not relevant to the section that you added it to, which is about her public image and reputation, not about her physical appearance. —Politizer talk/contribs 16:24, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
November 2008
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Henrico 4-H Camp,. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. Paste (talk) 18:16, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
- It's always best to follow the guide which is to place a {{hangon}} tag under the speedy delete and then talk about the issues on the articles talk page. I'm afraid that I can still see nothing notable about this camp that makes it worthy of an article. Sorry. Paste (talk) 18:27, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
A tag has been placed on IBeatYou requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for web content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Toddst1 (talk) 16:15, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:IBeatYou screenshot.png)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:IBeatYou screenshot.png. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:12, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Hi. If you want to delete something in your own userspace, just put {{db-user}} on the page and an admin will delete it shortly. You don't need to go to MFD for your own userspace. // roux 06:13, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
Re: Featured article
[edit]Hi Hda3ku, sorry I didn't get back to you until now. Anyway, I should first disclose that I've never written an FA or participated in FAC, so I might not be the most expert person to ask, and I also don't know a whole lot about Jessica Alba (I don't remember how exactly I even got involved in teh article, but I think I just stumbled across it from elsewhere and did some copyediting, and since that was early in my wiki career I put it on my watchlist, so I've been keeping track of it ever since—there are still whole sections, though, that I don't think I've read yet).
That being said...it's hard for me to judge the article, but I can see good things and bad things. My gut reaction was that it could still offer more comprehensive information about her career and stuff (when I first came to the article, which looks like it was almost the exact same time you first came, a lot of it came off as very fanboy-ish and without a lot of substantive information about her actual career, but rather just a lot of pop culture stuff).... but, looking at it more, it does seem to cover all the important information, so it's not like it's missing stuff...I don't know how prolific her career and stuff has been so I don't know if there's anything left to add that you haven't already added. My general impression is that she's known more as a sex symbol and a pop culture icon than as a professional actress per se, so I guess it's not inappropriate to have so much of the article devoted to stuff like "public image" and "adult life" and yada yada, stuff that's not specifically about her career.
My best recommendation would be to take a look here at the list of featured and good articles that are about actors and stuff...then you can see what other actor and pop-culture-people FAs look like, and get an idea how the Alba article compares and what can be done to improve it. Once you've had a chance to do that, I think you definitely should take it to FAC if you feel it's ready.... I don't know whether or not it will pass, but in any case the experience there should help improve the article a lot. I probably won't be able to help much with major additions and reorganizations of content and stuff (just because it's a topic I'm not familiar with), but I'm always happy to help with copyediting and stuff like that, as I'm a relatively experienced writer. —Politizer talk/contribs 01:34, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your offer. Unfortunately, I'm too busy these days to even consider being an admin—I spend more time here than I should already, and I imagine I'd just be spending even more time if I were also responsible for admin stuff as well. Plus, I don't quite feel ready yet. But if I consider running in the future, I'll be sure to let you know!
- Keep me posted on the progress of your work with the Jessica Alba article, and don't hesitate to contact me if you ever have any questions, —Politizer talk/contribs 02:12, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
Thanks
[edit]Thanks for cleaning up the vandalism on my user page! For future reference, when you revert vandalism, you can warn the user with one of the template messages at WP:WARN (such as {{subst:uw-vandalism1|Article name}}
. Sometimes that causes the vandal to shape up and stop vandalizing....but more importantly, if they continue to vandalize, it makes it easier to block them. —Politizer talk/contribs 03:58, 18 December 2008 (UTC)
- Your welcome, and thanks for reminding me where the vandalism warning templates are, I previously forgot. Hda3ku (talk) 04:18, 18 December 2008 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with File:IM logo.svg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:IM logo.svg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
