[edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Miss Earth Mauritius. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. - How is that unconstructive? I added the Miss Earth Mauritius for 2021 and 2022 + the runner ups for Miss Earth Mauritius 2023. M. L. K. (talk) 17:23, 28 July 2024 (UTC)
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Hateefa, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Miss Earth Mauritius, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I created a sandbox article that I would like to publish. Could you please review it for me? M. L. K. (talk) 18:53, 28 July 2024 (UTC)

jlwoodwa (talk) 19:07, 28 July 2024 (UTC)Writing an autobiography on Wikipedia is an example of conflict-of-interest editing and is strongly discouraged.
- While strongly discouraged, writing about yourself on Wikipedia is allowed, but you cannot try to use Wikipedia for promotion. Your draft lacks solid references with biographical coverage that are needed for notability. Essentially every sentence in the draft needs an inline citation (footnote) to a source that supports the statement. One difficulty in writing about yourself is that you know things that are not necessarily published anywhere and want to put them into the article - that can't happen.
- The draft reads as promotional; tone it down. And you have unsourced statements. Either provide sources or remove them. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 19:24, 28 July 2024 (UTC)
- If you're referring to User:Hateefa/sandbox, you should read Wikipedia:Autobiography:
- Also beware of unintended consequences. Once an article is created about yourself, you have no right to control its content, or to delete it outside the normal channels. If there is anything publicly available on a topic that you would not want to have included in an article, it will probably find its way there eventually. -- Alexf(talk) 10:30, 29 July 2024 (UTC)
