Infobox dates
[edit]Hi, when updating infobox stats you should update the |club-update=
or |pcupdate=
parameter for club stats, or the |nationalteam-update=
or |ntupdate=
parameter for international stats, by adding five tildes (~~~~~), which generates the specific time the update was made. Thanks, Mattythewhite (talk) 19:07, 1 September 2018 (UTC)
- See someone else has mentioned this already... The reason for doing it that way is because the parameter is supposed to show a date or date/time at which the stats are unambiguously correct. If we just put the date of the match, the reader can't tell whether the stats were correct before the match played on that date or after it. So when we bring the infobox stats up-to-date straight after a match, putting
|club-update=~~~~~
will automatically generate a date/time at which the stats are unambiguously correct. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 09:52, 2 September 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. I noticed that you recently removed content from Brighton & Hove Albion F.C. without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Unexplained removal of content. Mattythewhite (talk) 17:16, 2 September 2018 (UTC)
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Jason Steele (footballer). Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. Trying to be clever. Mattythewhite (talk) 15:18, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
Infobox stats
[edit]... are for league matches only. It says so at the bottom of the box. Mr Ulloa's goal against Celaya was in the Copa MX, which isn't a league match. See Pachuca website fixture list or Soccerway. It wasn't his 5th overall appearance, nor was it his first start, because he started in the previous round of the Copa MX. See Soccerway.
Everything on Wikipedia is supposed to be verifiable from reliable published sources, and if an editor keeps adding the same information without referring to a specific reliable source that does verify that information, people will consider that to be disruptive. Especially when the information is wrong.
If there's anything you don't understand, please consider asking at the WP:Teahouse, where the helpers are probably better at explaining things than I am. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 13:17, 5 September 2018 (UTC)
Can you explain what this was about? Where you removed the references, height and other content I added? And in which you also restored unsourced content to the infobox and career statistics table, removed the references in the honours section, restored a broken external link and removed a relevant and sourced category? All without any comment in the edit summary? Mattythewhite (talk) 13:50, 5 September 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Please stop your disruptive editing.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.
- If you are engaged in any other form of dispute that is not covered on the dispute resolution page, seek assistance at Wikipedia's Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Solly March, you may be blocked from editing. See #Solly March. Mattythewhite (talk) 14:41, 5 September 2018 (UTC)
You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did at Lewis Dunk. Mattythewhite (talk) 15:06, 9 September 2018 (UTC)

Infobox dates
[edit]Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. Welcome to Wikipedia! I just wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions was not quite right. When updating statistics within the infobox of a footballer, please make sure you update the timestamp at the same time, so that both readers and fellow editors know when the information was last updated.
You can do this by replacing the existing timestamp within the |club-update=
or |pcupdate=
parameter for club stats, or the |nationalteam-update=
or |ntupdate=
parameter for international stats, by adding five tildes (~~~~~), which generates the specific time the update was made.
If you have any questions about this, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you, Mattythewhite (talk) 20:26, 22 October 2018 (UTC)
