Barnstar

Thanks for the barnstar! Yep, you're right on those smaller cricketers. They look straightforward but even they can have interesting backstories (Harold Forster springs to mind). Hopefully at least a third of county sides can have all of their players created by this time next year. Thanks again! AssociateAffiliate (talk) 23:09, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

Women cricketers

Many of the women cricketers need updating due to the matches going on. England and India ODIs are completed, T20 one more to go, so they can be updated now. I'm done a few of the India women, thought I'd alert you if you'd like to join in on the England bit (I'll start once I'm done with the India women articles and list. cheers —SpacemanSpiff 20:56, 6 March 2010 (UTC)

Cameron White GAN

I am reviewing Cameron White here. I thought it had been sat there too long, and I know what it's like to have cricket articles sitting at review for a long time! I've begun the review and hope to finish it this week. I don't see any problems at all, just a few tweaks. Hope you don't mind me reviewing it. Cheers. --Sarastro1 (talk) 22:58, 9 March 2010 (UTC)

I think I'm done. Sorry if I'm being fussy. I haven't bothered to put it on hold as I'll have one last check and you'll probably have sorted it all by then! Really nice article and very readable. --Sarastro1 (talk) 21:10, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
Think we just need something about him being the new Warne (ha ha ha) and how he doesn't bowl any more. After that, I'll pass it. --Sarastro1 (talk) 22:03, 11 March 2010 (UTC)
It's fine now. I've passed it. It's a really enjoyable article. Let me know if you expand it for FA or if you put it up for FA. Cheers. --Sarastro1 (talk) 23:22, 11 March 2010 (UTC)

Removal of PROD from Julia Chibhabha

Hello Harrias, this is an automated message from SDPatrolBot to inform you the PROD template you added to Julia Chibhabha has been removed. It was removed by Phil Bridger with the following edit summary '(contest deletion - WP:CRIN doesn't adequately address women players, so let's just use a bit of common sense instead)'. Please consider discussing your concerns with Phil Bridger before pursuing deletion further yourself. If you still think the article should be deleted after communicating with the 'dePRODer,' you may want to send the article to AfD for community discussion. Thank you, SDPatrolBot (talk) (Learn how to opt out of these messages) 14:22, 20 March 2010 (UTC)

Women's infoboxes

Thanks for Healy. Could you help with the other Australian ones, I'm about to fatten up the prose. Pity about the lack of sources other than scorecards though :( YellowMonkey (bananabucket!) 06:57, 23 March 2010 (UTC)

User:Harrias/Women cricketers Are all those biogs in your FT/GT? YellowMonkey (vote in the Southern Stars and White Ferns supermodel photo poll) 07:46, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
Heck no, wouldn't be able to get sources to back most of them up anyway. Which is a pity really! But I want to get them all up to a decent standard; as good as the sources I can get will allow. I'll do some more of those infoboxes for you later today; the site I'm working on today has internet access, so I can edit while I work! Harrias talk 07:56, 24 March 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, putting in Poulton now. I guess some of hte CA oracles on obscure ggames don't go too far back. It seems they don't cover youth national champs for pre-2000 YellowMonkey (vote in the Southern Stars and White Ferns supermodel photo poll) 06:18, 25 March 2010 (UTC)

Excellent, nice to see a (former) Tasmanian cricketer get cleaned up. —Aaroncrick (talk) 08:06, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Hi, I removed the proposed deletion tag from this article because this article has been proposed for deletion in the past, and the tag was removed. Once a prod tag is removed from an article it can't be reapplied. If you'd still like to see the article deleted, AfD would be the proper venue. Thank you. -- Atama 22:38, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Barnstar II

Thanks! Am away at present and it was great to check in and see this! Johnlp (talk) 01:54, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Hi Harrias, thanks for your note on my talk page. You ask "What's so good about Camborne?" Well, now you ask I'm rather struggling to come up with an answer. You're probably right in saying that Helston is as well-know – if not better known – than Camborne (except to mining engineers of course) because of Flora Day. (Left to my own devices, I'd have used 'Druth – family connections, y'see – as a reference point but not even I'm so partial as to imagine Redruth is anybody else's centre of the universe.) Anyway, I like your formulation "between Falmouth and Penzance" and will work that into the lead dreckley. I think Penzance is probably better-known than Falmouth though. Best wishes, moi 'andsome Andy F (talk) 12:59, 6 April 2010 (UTC)

Hod Stuart GA nomination

Just a heads up that I addressed your review for the Hod Stuart article. Thanks for looking over it, I hope I got everything. Kaiser matias (talk) 01:32, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Just posted a review. Have you noticed how most/almost all North American sports articles only have stats and nothing on style/strengths and weaknesses? YellowMonkey (vote in the Southern Stars and White Ferns supermodel photo poll) 08:12, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, although I suppose it can be difficult to find sources that discuss style sometimes, especially (oddly) for active or recent players; it's the sort of thing then tends to be written more about in biogs and the such. Speaking of which, am reading a nice book on Somerset, Australia and England cricketer Sammy Woods at the moment, so should get that article cleaned up and improved in a few weeks time. Oh, feel free to overwrite my review thing on GAN. Harrias talk 08:24, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
Cool. Was Poulton missing much. I still can squeeze out a few more sentences out of cricinfo and scorecard mining but was there much else apart from those kinds of things that were missing, or some good qualitative info somewhere. I was wondering about the C as I was going to GAN it soon. Speaking of a Somerset spree, were you going to work on Bill Alley or Justin Langer. I can't think of any other Australian Somerset players except McCool YellowMonkey (vote in the Southern Stars and White Ferns supermodel photo poll) 08:41, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
I was (and still am) going to get Langer up to spec, but waiting on a couple of sources before I start in earnest. I don't really want to base it too much on stats and scorecards if I can avoid it. Poulton is probably already B-class to be honest, I just wasn't reading in enough depth to confidently classify as such. I'll give it a proper read through later. Cri-Zelda Brits made GA a few days ago, although I'll admit that I think the backlog drive is making people make less in-depth reviews, but there you go. Harrias talk 08:52, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
I can take photos of book pages and email them to you. It's possible to get a decently legible 150k snap of a two-page spread. Were you looking for anything specific? I suppose you weren't referring to online refs. The library in the city has his autobiog and probably other books about the current era have a chunk on him too. YellowMonkey (vote in the Southern Stars and White Ferns supermodel photo poll) 09:02, 7 April 2010 (UTC)
I'm off to Bristol Zoo with the missus now, but I'll let you know later on. Harrias talk 09:07, 7 April 2010 (UTC)

GAN backlog elimination drive - 1 week to go

First off, on behalf of myself and my co-coordinator Wizardman, I would like to thank you for the efforts that you have made so far in this GAN backlog elimination drive. It has been nothing short of a success, and that is thanks to you. See this Signpost article about what this drive has achieved so far.

We're currently heading into the final week of the drive. At this time, if you have any GANs on review or on hold, you should be finishing off those reviews. Right now, we have more GANs on review or on hold than we do unreviewed. If you're going to start a GA review, please do so now so you can complete it by the end of the month and so that the nominator has a full 7-day window to address any concerns.

See you at the finish!
