Notability guidelines for schools
[edit]Hi! I'm concerned that the article you have so far for Woodlawn Elementary School doesn't establish notability for the school. Per WP:NSCHOOL, schools are not inherently notable and must establish where they are notable per independent and reliable sources. So far the sources look to be either primary or routine database listings, which cannot establish notability. (Many database listings rely on primary sources for their information.) The type of things you'd need are things like non-local news coverage about the school, coverage in academic and scholarly sources like peer-reviewed journals or college press texts, and similar. To be honest, most schools aren't notable enough for an article and as such are usually covered briefly in an article about the town or city where it's located. Ways to improve Woodlawn Elementary School
[edit]Thanks for creating Woodlawn Elementary School.
A New Page Patroller Rosguill just tagged the page as having some issues to fix, and wrote this note for you:
Be aware that elementary schools are generally not considered notable per WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES, and there is a high chance this article will be nominated for deletion. The fact that this is a particularly high-performing school as noted in the Public School Review source is the only reason I'm approving it in new page review, but to cement its notability status, you should try to find additional coverage in independent, reliable, secondary sources to satisfy Wikipedia's general notability guideline.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can reply over here and ping me. Or, for broader editing help, you can talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.
Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

The article Woodlawn Elementary School has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Run-of-the-mill elementary school. Sources are just the school website plus entries in various databases that contain all schools. Neither establishes notability under WP:ORG, and I can find nothing online except routine coverage.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Extraordinary Writ (talk) 21:25, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
