Disambiguation link notification for May 22
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of Deputy Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kolathur (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 13:00, 22 May 2019 (UTC)
List of places named after M. G. Ramachandran moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, List of places named after M. G. Ramachandran, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. [edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Jayalalithaa. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been or will be reverted.
- If you are engaged in an article content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with the editor at their talk page, or the article's talk page, and seek consensus with them. Alternatively, you can read Wikipedia's dispute resolution page, and ask for independent help at one of the relevant notice boards.

[edit]Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
I noticed your recent edit to Thoothukudi does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.
Edit summary content is visible in:
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Begoon 09:53, 11 August 2019 (UTC)
- I see that you've made several edits since this request, yet still do not appear to be including edit summaries. Is there a particular reason that you don't think other editors deserve your attention to this basic courtesy? -- Begoon 02:31, 13 August 2019 (UTC)
Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to move pages to bad titles contrary to naming conventions or consensus, as you did at Pondicherry Airport, you may be blocked from editing. As per the official site here, the name is still Pondicherry Airport. Kindly refrain from unilaterally moving pages. Use requested moves instead and provide a reliable source that states a name change of the airport. — LeoFrank Talk 16:42, 13 August 2019 (UTC)
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Tuticorin railway station; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Begoon 07:50, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
- Sorry!!! I referred some official websites that gives true information so far I edited those pages and I don't have any intention to have an edit war...Hereafter I shall don't edit anything...I was eager to edit and provide correct and new things through wikipedia by analysing it well but its all over because of some senior editors...Thank you...I won't edit anything Haranari 08:04, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is a collaborative environment. That means that you have to work with other editors. It also means that there are some necessary rules and community expectations.
One of those rules is that you don't edit war, but discuss instead. You weren't warned as punishment - you were warned so that you understand what is required and have a chance to correct your behaviour before you get yourself into serious trouble. You need to consider other editors, and discuss any edits which are disputed or challenged, not just blindly keep reverting the same thing back in. That's policy.
One of the expectations is that you show consideration for other editors, and one of the ways you are expected to do that is to provide edit summaries for all the reasons detailed in my note above. You didn't reply to my question above about why you seemingly refuse to do that, so I don't know why you don't think you need to. Unfortunately that means it comes across as either selfish or lazy - it can't be forgetfulness because the note explains how you can set your preferences to warn you if you forget to enter a summary.
It's good that you're keen to edit - but you need to edit within our policies and norms. It's not much of a requirement, and thousands of people do so with no problem - as long as you make an effort you'll find people are happy to help. However, if you don't think you're able to adapt to the really minimal requirements, and decide to stop editing, that would be a shame - but in the end it will be your choice, not anybody else's. Thanks. -- Begoon 08:21, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
- Yeah now I understood what you are trying to convey...I shall follow the rules and regulations of wikipedia and will join with all the editors opinion and also i apologise for my behaviour...Thank you for your reply...Haranari 11:20, 16 August 2019 (UTC)
- Good - I look forward to seeing your contributions. I'm going to post a better welcome message than the one you had - with more links that I suggest you read. In particular look at those concerning reliable sources and how to indent (WP:INDENT) and sign your posts on talk pages (WP:SIGN). And don't forget the edit summaries - they are important. Thanks. -- Begoon 11:50, 16 August 2019 (UTC)

- Wikipedia is a collaborative environment. That means that you have to work with other editors. It also means that there are some necessary rules and community expectations.
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Tamilnad Mercantile Bank Limited; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

- This is your final warning to stop edit-warring and use the article talk page to get consensus if you disagree.
- Also be aware that editing logged out and logged in on the same article making the same edits is a breach of our multiple-accounts (sockpuppet) policies. Begoon 04:54, 17 August 2019 (UTC)

- Socks try the "second hand" excuse all the time. Thing is, unless you are being possessed by the soul of the individual who owned the phone/tablet/computer, there is no reason for you to be making the same edits as the "previous owner". It incriminates you more to offer this type of excuse than if you said nothing at all.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 16:04, 22 August 2019 (UTC)
