Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that in this edit to Kissing Strangers, you removed content without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed content has been restored. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 23:20, 14 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Creating your own article

[edit]

wp:The Wikipedia Adventure is a one hour tutorial on editing Wikipedia. Beware, there are many pitfalls. Ask for help at the wp:teahouse or if your edits are undone, you can ask that person for help. Best to use wp:notifications on your (this) talk page. See help:talk pages and wp:talk page guidelines

You can use wp:articles for creation, create it in your sandbox: User:Haraldur Eggertsson/sandbox, or create the article directly. You do need experience before the website will allow that. Creating it directly will often be quickly deleted if it does not meet standards. I would recommend your sandbox. You can replace "sandbox" in that link with the name of the article you wish to use. When it is ready, you can move it to its new location. BTW: avoid using a copy/paste move, see wp:moving a page.

It is often easy to copy the style from an existing article, especially a wp:Featured article (FA). FAs might be too long. See wp:Manual of Style (MoS)

For biographies, see wp:biographies of living people, wp:Manual of Style/Biographies.

Make sure the article is properly referenced. See below. Cheers Jim1138 (talk) 23:41, 14 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

References

[edit]

Adding references is how we ensure that content is valid. Without references, a reader can not easily validate information and there is no presumption of accuracy. See Help:Referencing for beginners and Help:footnotes. There is a tool that can help: See wp:RefToolbar/2.0. This is covered by the Wikipedia policy of wp:verifiability (WP:V). Please wp:cite your edits with wp:reliable sources (RS). Per WP:V unsourced content can be removed. Thank you Jim1138 (talk) 23:41, 14 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
