Thanks for your message. User:Dincher is away for a few days. I looked at the most recent edits Dincher made to Indian Lake, Pennsylvania and the external links which have been added do not meet either the policies or guidelines on external links or spam, which is why they are being reverted. Please also see WP:NOT - Wikipedia is not a place to advertise or a link farm. The info added on the lake itself should be sourced to a reliable source. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 01:47, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
- Is there a book from a reputable publisher on Indian Lake? Has a local newspaper or regional magazine done a story on the lake itself? These would be fine sources. I think if the borough itself had information on the lake on its website, as long as it was not controversial, that would be OK (so the lake is 12 feet deep would be fine, it is the most beautiful body of water in the northern hemisphere and its waters cure every disease known to humanity might be a bit iffy ;-) You should also look at WP:COI which is the material on conflict of interest - the aim is to be neutral - see WP:NPOV (neutral point of view). - Sorry to be slow in replying - busy in real life and here. Your idea is correct - Wikipedia is ideally for an overview of the facts - the rest they can Google. Newspapers are often good sources - the various cite templates are useful for adding references - see {{cite web}}, {{cite book}}, {{cite news}}, etc. Please ask if you need assistance or have more questions, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 02:40, 12 April 2009 (UTC)
