Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Hannahbeir, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Connor Schell, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

- Hi Drmies,
- I am trying to update Connor Schell's Wikipedia page, because he has done a lot since the Wikipedia was updated. Can you please help me make changes? Hannahbeir (talk) 01:38, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
- Can you please disclose your conflict of interest properly? Read the guidelines linked above--I think you haven't done that yet. Drmies (talk) 01:45, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
- I have worked with Connor in the past, but these changes are accurate and factual - I'm citing sources. Is there anyone else that can update his page, if I am not allowed to? Hannahbeir (talk) 01:47, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
- Do you know how to disclose your conflict of interest? 01:49, 28 March 2023 (UTC) Philipnelson99 (talk) 01:49, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
- I do not, can you help me do it, please? Hannahbeir (talk) 02:01, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
- Alright, I've declared your conflict of interest on both your user page and the article's talk page. If you're being paid to update the page, then you'll need to do some additional disclosures. As far as your contributions go, I think it would be best not to link to the website for the studio you mentioned. In addition, you should probably add a reliable source for that claim because of the biography of living persons' policy. I hope that helps.
- @Drmies, can you correct me if I've gotten anything wrong here? Thanks!

- Thank you. So can I now make those updates with your caveats? Will you review them and then publish? Hannahbeir (talk) 13:01, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
- Hi, one more question. I would like to add a page, and I'm noticing it's under review. Can you help me move this along as well?

- I am not going to review that page right now but just gave it a quick glance and it seems that it would likely not pass the WP:Articles For Creation review. Philipnelson99 (talk) 13:44, 28 March 2023 (UTC)

- Philipnelson99, I don't think you got anything wrong here. Hannahbeir, your questions suggest that you still have not read the relevant guideline, WP:COI, and you had another editor declare your conflict of interest. You added the "paid contributor" template to Draft:Words and Pictures (studio), but WP:DISCLOSE (a shortcut to one section of WP:COI) clearly says this is to be on the talk page of the article/draft, and though there was a big fat warning on the draft page after you placed it there, you didn't move it to the talk page. I would have expected a conscientious COI editor to be extra careful. That draft itself, it has some sourcing, but it also shows very little evidence of an effort to write and format it in line with our conventions, and the language is highly promotional. It should not be "moved along" in this stage. Note that I also updated the template on your user page to reflect your paid work on that draft. In general, Wikipedia is not an advertising medium. We do not frown on involved editors, but those contributors should be editors too, meaning they do the kinds of things that improve our project. Learning how to write encyclopedically is one of those things; simply dropping PR-style language into new or existing articles is not OK. Any language added must be neutral. [edit]Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Connor Schell, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you use Wikipedia for promotion or advertising, as you did at Connor Schell. Please consider this the last warning. If you insert promotional, resume-style, unverified material again, you will be blocked from editing the article directly, and you might end up being blocked from editing altogether. Preserving neutrality is taking up way too much time. Drmies (talk) 14:30, 28 March 2023 (UTC)
