Hi, yes that is quite all right, but please leave a reason so the people who monitor these things know your intention. Thanks SparksBoy (CVU) (talk) 21:58, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Help desk question
[edit]In addition to the advice you received at the help desk, you might want to look at an existing book cover with proper documentation. I always find it easier to work from a good example and simply modify for my own purposes. Please see Image:Revenge of the Lawn.jpg. If you upload a book cover, you can simply copy (while in edit mode of course) and paste the content from that page to the image page you create, and tailor just the few parameters that would change for your image upload.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 16:35, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
Image
[edit](Duplicating from my talk) You're welcome. You have to upload here because the Wikimedia Commons is only for free content. Fair use, which you are going to be using here, is verboten on the Commons. On the left hand side side of this page you'll see a bunch of links under the heading "toolbox". The second to last from the bottom is marked upload file. That's the link to set you on the process. In the page you are taken to, one of the links is marked "A cover or other page from a book, DVD, newspaper, magazine, or other such source." The link in that sentence is what you want. This is a direct link there. That page attempts to guide a user through the process of placing a fair use rationale, but since I've already provided the code, simply blank the content in the "Summary:" box and ignore the licensing box at the bottom. Just go ahead and upload the file (since you already uploaded an image to the Commons, I take it you are familiar with the process of clicking on browse and choosing the relevant image you wish to upload from your computer). Once that's done, click "edit this page" and paste all the content from the example image I provided previously (while in edit mode) and replace the few parameters that are different. Voila! I will also post this on your talk page.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 23:29, 8 December 2008 (UTC)
- Always glad to help someone who is actually adding content (as opposed to what I do mostly, which is explain to 13 year olds why the word they made up in school yesterday is not a valid subject for an article). If you need help with anything, my talk page is an open invitation.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 00:43, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
HTML not
[edit]If I recall the only changes I made to that one is the removal of unnecessary <br /> tags. Which I replaced with simple carrage returns. wikimarkup sorts paragraphs quite nicely on it's own. :: Kevinalewis : (Talk Page)/(Desk) 17:20, 13 December 2008 (UTC)
Your note
[edit]Thanks for the thanks (ack... that could be perpetual). Regarding the making of gore into an adverb: I would avoid it, but should you wish to go there my advice is to use only a single "l".
Nicely done article there. Keep on keepin' on. LilHelpa (talk) 15:23, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
Coward's Marvellous Party
[edit]The article - mostly yours - is really first rate. I've been doing a bit in WP on Coward lately and was wowed by this article. More! Tim riley (talk) 15:58, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
- What a very pleasing message to find on my talk page today! Thank you, and more power to your elbow. - Tim riley (talk) 19:27, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (File:Hussein_cover.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Hussein_cover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 16:22, 26 April 2009 (UTC)
Trinidad Sanchez, Jr.
[edit]Nope, he's in there, the category's just ginormous so you had to go to the T Section to find him. I've added a template that moved him to the S section. I also added another less populated category that might fit, feel free to revert if it doesn't. -- Vary | (Talk) 03:00, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
- I used Defaultsort: {{DEFAULTSORT:Sanchez, Trinidad, Jr.}} It's a 'magic word' template that will show the software how to sort an article in all of its categories. It's usually at the top of the list of categories, but I honestly don't know if the placement matters. Happy to help! -- Vary | (Talk) 17:05, 31 January 2010 (UTC)

General Martin
[edit]Hi, thanks for your contribution. Just glad to see someone interested in the old fellow. MarmadukePercy (talk) 00:27, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for your message. That's interesting about the pattern baldness. I didn't ever notice that to tell the truth. Martin was a curious fellow, and quite a character obviously. I try to keep an open mind about him, and to see his strengths as well as his weaknesses, of which there were obviously a few as well. I am indeed related to him: I'm his great-great-great-great-great-grandson. (I think I have the number of greats right. lol) A pleasure to meet you, cousin. Disambiguation link notification for February 7
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited On the Road to Mandalay (song), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Thomas Hampson (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
