[edit]Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Edmonton Scottish, did not appear constructive and has been undone. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. You are removing content without explanation, and modifying the infobox with parameters that do not exist. Please see {{Infobox football club}} for full details on what is and is not allowed. Edmonton Scottish Soccer
[edit]I'm trying to make some edits to the page, how would I go about doing this? We are the Black family who are the owners of this team HamishB (talk) 11:09, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
- I explained some of that above. Familiarize yourself with Wikipedia policies and guidelines and learn what the parameters for {{Infobox football club}} are. Finally, it would probably be best if you don't edit subjects you're close to. See WP:COI. I will add another warning about this here that will contain more information. Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, HamishB. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Edmonton Scottish, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:
- avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
- instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
- when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Walter Görlitz (talk) 13:15, 12 October 2016 (UTC)
