Speedy deletion nomination of Hamilton Children's Choir

A tag has been placed on Hamilton Children's Choir, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. Because I wasn't aware that I cannot create a username representing my company. As such, I have followed the guidelines to create a username that identifies me as an individual rather than a company

I have also reviewed the copyright guidelines with further detail and will paraphrase the wordings from other websites in future. My apologies for not reviewing the guidelines properly prior to publishing

Thanks for your message. The purpose of creating a Wikipedia page for the Hamilton Children's Choir isn't a promotional one. We want to increase access to information. The edits made so far have been taken directly from the Hamilton Children's Choir website. We apologize that this is misinterpreted as a act to promote our organization. How would you suggest we should phrase our page to stay away from that promotional connotation? We want to take steps to ensure that we comply to the guidelines set up by Wikipedia. For a start, you must not copy parts of the choir's website. That is copyright, and we can't accept copyright material WP:COPYVIO. In addition, it will be promotional. Heck, that's what it is there for, isn't it? You need to read WP:GROUP about notability (must be shown without getting enthusiastic) and WP:RS about the reliable independent sources needed to prove it. If you think you pass and can find the references, look at other articles - the slightly boring style of writing. This is an encyclopaedia - no enthusiasm (in the articles, at least - you should see some of the discussion boards...), no 'we', no 'for more please see...', no contact info (the website can be an External Link). Think rather middle of the road Anglican than Southern Baptist Halleluia. Peridon (talk) 13:15, 10 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Frankly, if you can't see for yourself that a page full of such stuff as "choir that makes a difference in the lives of youth within the greater Hamilton community", "providing youth with exceptional choral music instruction and performance opportunities that foster creativity, personal development and social growth" and so on and so on is promotional, then I doubt that you will ever be able to edit acceptably. however, rather than declining your current unblock request now, I am posting this message and giving you another chance to show that you understand the reasons for your block. Could you clarify on the comment about "you won't edit subjects where you have a conflict of interest"? Does that pertain to Peridon's comment on not accepting copyright material? Just wanted to be sure that I understand your feedback. Peridon posted some useful links on what not to do when editing an article. Are there any additional Wikipedia articles that you'd recommend reading so that I don't repeat the same mistake? Thanks very much.
