this bot is malfunctioning
[edit]Halibutt, you have either failed to program this bot correctly, or have done it on purpose. I have seen it is meant to fix [[Polish September Campaign]] to the [[Invasion of Poland (1939)]]. However, you made it so that it removes [[Invasion of Poland (1939)|Polish September Campaign]] but it leaves [[Polish Defensive War]] and [[Invasion of Poland (1939)|Polish Defensive War]]. I have gone through and changed an extensive number of your bot's "malfunctions" to the correct NPOV version. please delete this bot or reprogram it so that it functions properly and is not a hinderance to NPOV. -- User:Jadger
- This bot works as planned. It removes the name that was voted out, while leaving all piped versions, whatever their look. --User:Halibutt
- When the preceding comments were made, Wikiformat was inactive due to a missing </nowiki>-tag. I've edited the tags and added the usernames of the authors manually.-- Matthead discuß! O 13:42, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks, I was wondering what was the problem myself. //Halibutt 21:57, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

It only does so for the version with polish defensive war, which received the least votes, for Polish September Campaign it removes it totally.

- Just as it leaves [[Invasion of Poland (1939)|Polish Campaign]], [[Invasion of Poland (1939)|German war against Poland]], [[Invasion of Poland (1939)|the war]], [[Invasion of Poland (1939)|battle of Poland]], [[Invasion of Poland (1939)|fall of Poland]] and a plethora of other piped versions. It's not up to me to change them, I merely change the links. //Halibutt 13:18, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
stop avoiding what I said by "playing dumb", it may change that, but it also removes [[Invasion of Poland (1939)|Polish September Campaign]], in direct contrast to what you have claimed.

- Indeed, since "Polish September Campaign]] has been voted out, I'm changing it to the consensus version. //Halibutt 09:07, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

Automated message to bot owners
[edit]As a result of discussion on the village pump and mailing list, bots are now allowed to edit up to 15 times per minute. The following is the new text regarding bot edit rates from Wikipedia:Bot Policy:
Until new bots are accepted they should wait 30-60 seconds between edits, so as to not clog the recent changes list and user watchlists. After being accepted and a bureaucrat has marked them as a bot, they can edit at a much faster pace. Bots doing non-urgent tasks should edit approximately once every ten seconds, while bots who would benefit from faster editing may edit approximately once every every four seconds.
Also, to eliminate the need to spam the bot talk pages, please add Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard to your watchlist. Future messages which affect bot owners will be posted there. Thank you. --Mets501 02:57, 22 February 2007 (UTC)
