Response: creating a new article
[edit]Hi again. Before starting your article you want to make sure that the subject will meet one of the criteria at WP:MUSICBIO, does not have to all of the criteria. Then you want to make sure that you are basing the article on information found in reliable sources, this is especially important when writing about a living person. You can start your article by clicking on User:Halcyonhalogen/sandbox and I'll check in on it now and then to see how you are doing, this is a very safe way for new editors to write new articles at there own pace. Once it's all finished and meets all guidelines we can move it to the main encyclopedia. Have fun and let me know if you have any questions. Eddie Bayers is an article that I wrote about a musician, you don't need to get it to that quality to have it on Wikipedia but it should be a good guide. J04n(talk page) 23:09, 29 November 2011 (UTC)
- Well, there is certainly enough info to write a biography but I'm not sure if he meets the notability requirements. I found another reference that may be useful though. You can't use the YuoTube video, copyright violation. I have to get ready for work but will look more into it tonight. See if you can find any coverage of him in the mainstream press, newspapers would be great. You also might want to look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Christian music. Forget about the picture for now, the article should come first. Thanks for the cup, J04n(talk page) 11:03, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
- I looked at the links you just added, the NME is just a linke to YouTube, no good. ITunes doesn't mean anything and the stuff on the BBC really doesn't establish notability but would be useful for the article if other stuff is found. It's tough because he has such a common name so searches come up with a lot of useless junk. Try search his name with his different album names, you may find some good reviews. Don't give up yet! - Just thought of something; did Songs of Praise win any awards or land on any charts? J04n(talk page) 15:00, 30 November 2011 (UTC)
