Ah hello there! I have never used a talk page before so I am not sure if I am doing this right but it is nice to feel welcomed here. I am hoping to get my draft to become an official page soon! HUBEDYBUBEDY (talk) 17:51, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
- HUBEDYBUBEDY, Here's a few bits of advice on the current state of the draft:
- 1. Don't use external links in the middle of the article. You shouldn't link to external websites that way, they should always be in the External Links section
- 2. Wikipedia isn't a list of someone's accomplishments, treat it like you're writing for, say, Encyclopedia Britannica.
- 3. Avoid puffery and promotional language. —moonythedwarf (Braden N.) 20:45, 5 November 2020 (UTC)
Thank you for your advice, I will try and make some changes taking this into account over the weekend. HUBEDYBUBEDY (talk)
Deletion of my article
[edit]Hi Moonythedwarf, my article on Kit Yates was recently deleted which I was quite upset to see as I was intending to improve it based on your recommendations this weekend as well as rewriting the copyrighted content.
I wondered if I could ask you what I can do next as you have some rough idea of what I was working on and what happened to it. I of course understand why it was flagged in the first place but I was not expecting it to be deleted after I removed the copyrighted content. Is it still possible to rewrite the article in a new and improved form with the same title or would the guidelines not allow me to do that as I was the original creator?
Thank you for your time and help on the draft so far. - HUBEDYBUBEDY (talk) 17:02, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
- HUBEDYBUBEDY, Copyvio is instant deletion. I'm sorry, but your draft may not be recoverable due to the copyright risk. You'll need to restart from scratch. You can just start with the same title. —moonythedwarf (Braden N.) 17:12, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
- As for why: Wikipedia keeps page history. So even if you removed it afterward, it's still present in the history of the page, and has to be deleted. —moonythedwarf (Braden N.) 17:13, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
Ah, that is a shame. However, if I can write a new article with the same title then there is hope. Thanks again, HUBEDYBUBEDY (talk) 17:24, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
