Links to draft articles
[edit]Please do not introduce links in actual articles to draft articles, as you did to St Kilda Football Club. Since a draft is not yet ready for the main article space, it is not in shape for ordinary readers, and links from articles should not go to a draft. Such links are contrary to the Manual of Style. These links have been removed. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 09:31, 3 May 2021 (UTC)
Advice from an older editor
[edit]Hi HIHPISBrian! I'm Empoleon, and it's great to meet you.
I can see you're relatively new to Wikipedia, so I figured I'd pop on over to your talk page just to give you some advice.
First things first, it's great that you've wanted to go out of your way to edit multiple pages already. I noticed lots of those edits were reverted - but don't fret. It's a natural part of the Wiki-scape for this to occur. If your edits are reverted, don't revert them back - there is a rule known as the three revert rule, which is used to prevent edit warring. Instead, open some communication with the users who reverted your work to try and understand why they did so. In that way, both you and the other editor can come to a better understanding.
When making edits, make sure to reference your work. Because Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, references are needed for fact-checking purposes. Without adding references, people can sometimes misconstrue your edits as disruptive or a personal opinion.
Finally, but most importantly, don't forget to have fun! I'm sure you've got plenty of topics you're interested in (The Saints seem to be a big one, for starters). Go out and edit to your heart's content - and don't be afraid. You can always ask people for help if you're unaware or unsure of something.
If you've got any more questions, feel free to ask me them!
