FR Japan 2024 TOM'S

[edit]

Hello, H4MCHTR hope you are well. Regarding the teams of TOM'S Formula & PONOS Racing, both teams are run by TOM'S. Also I put them as one as they are basically are same team. But if you want to split as it is, I have no problems with that. Thank you for the understanding. User:Thfeeder (talk) , 19 February 2024

@Thfeeder: If you have a source for this, we can handle this like for example the partnership between Juncos and McLaren in the 2023 IndyCar Series.

Hello, H4MCHTR.There's no precise source, but I put this link to consider if it's valid. Thank You. https://www.as-web.jp/sports-car/938777/attachment/asimg_p06_ea64562d31c6f82 https://www.as-web.jp/domestic/736295/attachment/asimg_ak3q2718_1e6135a23fd6c4f

Commercial titles

[edit]

ALL articles in WP:MOTOR require team names to be entered in accordance with WP:PROMO, which means no commercial titles - for the record, vehicles are not included in driver article results summary tables is for the same reason due to consensus. Pages which have not been changed are due to users either not knowing the protocol or ignoring it for their own agendas, and will be dealt with in due course. Regardless, team names must also fall under WP:COMMONNAME which commercial titles do not meet as they change regularly - e.g., "Rodin Carlin" is fine as both companies operate the team and have racing operations, however "Carlin Buzz Racing" is not ok as Buzz is a commercial partner only; similarly, "Triple Eight Race Engineering" is accepted, however commercial titles it has used such as "TeamVodafone" and "Red Bull Racing Australia" are not. The exception to this rule is a situation like WPS Racing where the title sponsor owns the team and names it after themselves. 110.149.163.66 (talk) 11:17, 20 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Is there a consensus that Wikipedia:PROMO forbids the naming of title sponsors? Because when reading the guideline rules, I can't find any part of it that disagrees with naming title sponsors. It is in no way advertising or promotion to call a team the way it calls itself, and also clearly not subjective. Besides, if this is a project-wide rule, why is it implemented literally nowhere in the project's biggest pages? If this rule is as clear as you make it out to be, every single F1, F2, F3, IndyCar and Super Formula season article needs to be changed - and those are just the ones I can think about off the top of my head - and I don't see any discussions about this anywhere.
If you are this passionate about motorsport articles following this rule - and I still am not convinced that I can find this rule in the guideline - why don't you start a discussion at a higher level and not on a page like this, where the only result of you pressing this issue is the article diverging from every other single seater championship article in the way it presents information? Westling

[edit]

i deleted him because he hasn't been entered to any rounds and this is the last one and he isn't on that entry list. RxxingAddict (talk) 15:13, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, true, but we've always added a note under the table informing the reader about an entry being announced and then not happening without further information. Simply deleting the driver contrasts the source given in the article. Hmnphl (talk) 16:23, 28 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Eurocup 3

[edit]

Btw I believe Zhuravskiy switched to mp last round, but currently I don’t have a source. On the Barcelona entry he is listed with MP. RxxingAddict (talk) 18:09, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Good spot, yeah - I'll change it, thanks Hmnphl (talk) 18:13, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
