The meaning of "Sub-Saharan Africa"

My question is: What is wrong with the follwing simple fact on the term "Sub-Sahara Africa", that Wikipedia does not allow it to be known (published). Isn't it a geographical fact? and many do not see any contradiction with the facts on the ground? could some one please tell me what is the official explanation?. The excluded sentence reads "Sub-Sahara Africa- despite the fact that the overwhelming majority of one billion Africans do not live anywhere close to the Sahara, nor are their lives so affected by the implied impact of the very loaded meaning that this dogma intends to convey". Is this sentence not a fact, though not written on "Wikipedia's own Encyclopedia"?

I understand your first point ("who said..") and will add an inline ref (an AllMusic review). Actually I mentioned again later in the body.

Not sure about your second (attribution point). HOWEVER. I'm still at work on the article, had to leave off as midnight approached last night, and also spent lunchtime while at work. Improvements will be made!

I found the article "free" in the sense of disorganized, and lacking insight. Why I tackled it.

Personal history: I did spend time with many of the named in late 60s and early 70s. Remember suspending practice with Anthony Braxton and Clifford Thornton one evening (1971?) when Frederic Rzewski brought in a tape of new Chinese music we all listened to and discussed. I believe all four of us had actually gone to a lecture by Charles Seeger earlier that day...

Gyrofrog – I reverted the article because I don’t know how to work differently. If I have to take a class to learn how, well, my life has more important demands.

I try to retain the hard work of many other contribs, but also make the article organized and verifiable. Plus, the article appears to have been significantly informed by the writings of academics and blogger/critics – many of whom have agendas at variance with WP: aims. Finally, the prior-state article just missed the point.

References:

• My use of “serious” now points to Milton Babbitt article “Who Cares if You Listen” (and links to the WP:article about it), where “Babbitt describes ‘serious’, ‘advanced music’ as ‘a commodity which has little, no, or negative commodity value’, and the composer of such music as, ‘in essence, a 'vanity' composer’. It is music of which the general public is largely unaware, and in which it takes no interest “.
• Later in the same sentence, I point (but do not link) to Dennis Hartman’s article to allay your “weasel “.
• Finally, I added several references in existing text, particularly where I’ve edited.
• Yes more can be done.

“Why Free Jazz” (working title) now “Background to the Free Jazz Movement” but my statements remain. I certainly DO want more support, but am unwilling to add just because some published punk said it (I deem this a real issue in much 1980-2013 critical writing on free jazz). Maybe I should point to the index of J. Marion’s JammUpp site for bios on hundreds of 30s-50s musicians…

I also wanted to find a US study of blacks in post WWII higher Education (even though a WP:article exists). I point to multiple WP:articles in the bulleted section but that does not make you happy.

Finally – here’s how I feel: I added value to the article (and was working to add more). You reverted my work over a quibble. What you reverted to equally fails to meet your standards. I understand you intend the best, but would you be more helpful?

Hi Gyrofrog! Yes, that was a sentence fragment. (I don't know if I should be concerned you're the first person to notice that mistake since I wrote the article back in 2009.) I went to the source & finished the sentence. I probably should add more, but I am at work & it's not a good idea to contribute to WP while being paid to do other things. I have edited several times Khatumo State on wikipedia because it left out details, however this has been rejected by Wikipedia.

The main details left out was that that the dispute over ssc is only between Somaliland and Puntland this is incorrect.

First I would like to start with the overview. In the overview of the former author it is mentioned that there is a dispute between Somaliland and Puntland over the provinces of Sool, Sanaag and Ayn, and indeed there is a verbal dispute, but there is also mutual agreement between Somaliland and Puntland to oppose any local effort to bring peace to the region. With local effort I mean Khatumo State.

Somaliland and Puntland have worked with each-other to eliminate Khaatumo State of Somalia and any local opposition, because of oil agreements they both have signed with foreign oil companies (Somaliland with DBO and Puntland with Horn Petroleum) without the consent of the local population, see;

The fact is there has been no clash between Somaliland and Puntland sins 2007 after the capture of Somaliland of the capital of Sool lasanod (Laascaanood) in 2007.

On the other hand there have been clashes between Khatumo State in Sool in 2012 specially Hudun region, as Somaliland was trying to capture Hudun town from Khaatumo state. This was because there is potential oil in Hudun district. This is also the reason of the clashes as reported by the un monitoring group.

Thanks for you comments. Yes I edited Meles Zenawi's article yesterday. It was not a major edit that is why I didn't explain what I have changed. All I did was re-write the introduction and early life parts adding some new developments and more references. I didn't delete anything major. I just re-arranged them. Could you please reverse the article to the one I edited?

Injera/Tigre

Hi Gyrofrog. There's a disruptive user on the injera and Tigre people pages who appears to be operating several ips & ad-hoc accounts. He/she has the same .se geolocation as the old ip on the injera page, as well as that of another ad-hoc account that was just blocked on Eritrea (more on this here). Besides general disruption (e.g. misleading edit summaries & breaking the national cuisine parameter code so that the entries don't show [1]), there seems to be some block evasion going on. Oromo Flag

Hello mate! How are you? Always great to meet someone interested in Ethiopian and Oromo history. So I saw one of your edits from a few years back in which you stated that the OLF flag was not the Oromo flag. I understand that there are many who consider that flag to be strictly for the OLF but that, alas, is not true. The flag was designed by OLF artists in the 1980s to be the flag for Oromia, the the Oromo nation. It is also interesting to note that the name "Oromia" was also thought up at the same time by OLF members, the Oromo nation was called "Biyaa Oromo" (Oromoland) before this. Furthermore, there are countless Oromo songs and literature which refer to the Red and Green flag as "Alaaba Oromia" (meaning Flag of Oromia). Further evidence that it is the Oromo flag is how the Oromo Democratic Front, an organization which is somewhat of a rival to the OLF, is using the flag. The flag is banned in Oromia because of its ties, not just to the OLF, but to the Oromo independence movement. Now I'm just giving you the facts, I can give you any links that I have backing this and I won't be butthurt about it if I've failed to convince you, just thought I'd let you know!
