Hello Guybrush1979, this is a message from an automated bot to inform you that the page you created, 2009-10 Liga Indonesia Premier Division, has been marked for speedy deletion by User:NorthernNine. This has been done because the page seems to be about a person, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant (see CSD). If you think the tag was placed in error, please add "{{hangon}}" to the page text, and edit the talk page to explain why the page should not be deleted. If you have a question about this bot, please ask it at User talk:SDPatrolBot II. If you have a question for the user who tagged the article, see User talk:NorthernNine. Thanks, - SDPatrolBot II (talk) on behalf of NorthernNine (talk · contribs) 11:08, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Guybrush. I have rejected the above speedy deletion request as it clearly did not meet CSD#A7. Some people tend to be overkeen when it comes to listing new articles at Candidates for Speedy Deletion, so please do not let this experience discourage you from adding more content. Best wishes, Rje (talk) 15:19, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Actually I am new in Wikipedia, have just started to write. :-D Guybrush1979 (talk) 23:46, 22 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Pasca.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Pasca.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 05:47, 30 May 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 05:47, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Science and technology in Indonesia

[edit]

You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Science and technology in Indonesia, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be unambiguous advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Science and technology in Indonesia and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. CosmicJake (talk) 18:14, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Liga esia (1).jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

Because you used a fair use rationale with your upload, the recommended copyright tag is {{non-free logo}}. Please add this to the image and remove the speedy delete template ({{di-no license}}).

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Image Screening Bot (talk) 18:50, 19 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Indonesian SAD Team, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.atodamakina.com/foro4/admin/mods/ACP_Announcement_Centre_1_2_1/backups/language/lang_indonesian/sad%20team%20warez%20download.shtml. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.)

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. I noticed you added SEA Games and that Yamaha U-13 cup. Both competition are not AFF competitions. They may be ASEAN but it does not mean it is under the AFF. SEA Games football is under the SEA Games Federation, while that Yamaha competition is organized by Yamaha Motors with Indonesia's Ministry of Youth and Sport as co-organizers. Therefore it should be removed from the AFF article. Banana Fingers (talk) 13:34, 2 August 2010 (UTC) [reply]

The Yamaha U-13 Cup might not be a formal AFF competition, but SEA Games probably is, referring to this AFF official webpage http://www.aseanfootball.org/competitions.asp Guybrush1979 (talk) 13:40, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't matter if SEA Games football is covered at the AFF website. It still doesn't make it an AFF competition. Like I said, SEA Games including the football tournament is under the SEA Games Federation not the AFF. The same thing with the Asian Games and the Olympics. Both are not sanctioned by the AFC and FIFA respectively, its the Asian Games Council for the Asian Games and the IOC for the Olympics. Banana Fingers (talk) 15:21, 2 August 2010 (UTC) [reply]
I've removed them from the article. Guybrush1979 (talk) 16:46, 2 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Indonesian SAD Team requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a club, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guidelines for people and for organizations. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Most of the source are from http://www.rsssf.com/tablesi/indoamchamp.html combined with more recent results from www.liga-indonesia.co.id. It's still in my sandbox, once it's ready, I'll move it to real page. Let me know if you have any suggestion! Guybrush1979 (talk) 12:30, 16 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"English please"

[edit]

Hello there. I noticed a number of the Indonesian soccer/football articles use the words "Bahasa Indonesia" rather than the accepted English "Indonesian". I also noticed that you have worked on a few of the articles. I'm aware that some people refer to the language in English as Bahsasa Indonesia, however, the majority of people don't, and in official use "Indonesian" is used. When you're working on these articles, perhaps you could fix this up - much appreciated if you can. To link, type "[[Indonesian language|Indonesian]]

many thanks --Merbabu (talk) 08:03, 17 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Football club naming

[edit]

you said "Names like Persib Bandung or Persija Jakarta are not necessary to be changed into PS Bandung or Jakarta FC". you know, this is English Wikipedia. so, the title can be changed to English and it's lead sentence will explain the title.

such as Persija. i may use Jakarta FC as title in English Wikipedia page. in the artikel, i explain it that "Jakarta FC (Bahasa:Persatuan Sepakbola Indonesia Jakarta) commonly known as Persija......". you know, Persija is abrreviation. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Deyede (talkcontribs) 12:27, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it's English WP, but those are club names, which are not necessary to be translated, unless the club has officially launched its English name, as for Sriwijaya FC or Pro Titan FC.
Comparison: AS Roma in Italy doesn't need to be changed into Rome FC (A.S = Football Club in Italian language). In Germany, Eintracht Frankfurt also need not to be changed into Frankfurt United (Eintracht = United in German language). However, for the associated city/region names, might be changed into English names, as for Bayern Muenchen into Bayern Munich (Munich is the English name for Muenchen) -- Bayern itself is a German region name for Bavarian. But, it doesn't apply for all case! if the city name is part of the club names, as in Torino FC in Italy (doesn't need to be changed into Turin FC). Guybrush1979.
But probably you may also be right, since names like Persija Jakarta is actually incorrect abbreviation, since Persija itself has contained "Jakarta". It should be "PS Jakarta" or "PSI Jakarta". Now, it depends how we see "Persija" as a club name or abbreviation. Still, if it is PSI Jakarta, it doesn't need to be changed into "Jakarta FC". Don't need to change the prefix. Guybrush1979 (talk) 13:00, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Take a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Naming_conventions_(sports)
  • The name is used on the English-language section of the club's official website
  • The name has been adopted at least by a significant section of the English-language media and it is recognizable
  • The name is not easily confused with other clubs' names.
In this case, I think such names like Persija Jakarta, Persib Bandung or PSM Makassar have been widely accepted and used by media or even the clubs (when they deal with international games, etc).
Hopefully, this has solved your doubts.
The only possible problem is about the inclusion of city/region names for football clubs. We need to see whether the city name is just complementary information (as in FC Bayern Munich from FC Bayern Muenchen -- in this case FC Bayern is the main name and Muenchen/Munich is just complementary) or the only club name (as in AS Roma - not necessary to be translated as FC Rome or AS Rome -- as in here Roma is the main club name!). The clubs like Persija Jakarta or Persib Bandung are fine, since Jakarta and Bandung are both Indonesian and English names of the cities. But how about Persitara Jakarta Utara or Persikab Kabupaten Bandung? Should they be changed into Persitara North Jakarta and Persikab Bandung Regency? Guybrush1979 (talk) 23:31, 20 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
you said "it's English Wikipedia, but those are club names". no way. in English Wikipedia, club names can be changed for searching easier. people in the world would like to search Jakarta Football Club than type Persatuan Sepakbola Indonesia Jakarta. oh ya, Persija is abbreviation, so don't too often to use it. the name is Persatuan Sepakbola Indonesia Jakarta, not Persija. Persija is just acronym. which one do you like to spell in English, Jakarta Football Club or Persatuan Sepakbola Indonesia Jakarta?
his case is similar like Saudi Arabia's club names. the winner of 2009 AFC Cup, نادي الكويت الرياضي, the club was known as Kuwait Sporting Club. the club name in English Wikipedia is Kuwait SC. in Indonesia, commonly use FC (Football Club). Jakarta FC is not official club name, but in used English Wikipedia, it doesn't matter.
if don't like English name, how if Persatuan Sepakbola Indonesia translated to PSI, so become PSI Jakarta, not Persija Jakarta? or Persatuan Sepakbola abbreviated to PS, so Persatuan Sepakbola Malang will become PS Malang, not Persema Malang. like you said, "incorrect abbreviation".
if you agree with media, i am disagree with you. incorrect abbreviation is spreaded by media, so many people are made wrong. before judging media, i want to ask about PSSI (Indonesian FA). PSSI should tell to press that abbreviaton of club names is wrong and media must be soon to correct them. don't say Persija Jakarta, correct it to PSI Jakarta. maybe current officer of PSSI don't care, or don't know. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Deyede (talkcontribs) 02:51, 28 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
In general, you have to follow the convention as regulated in EN WP. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Naming_conventions_(sports). I have posted the 3 criteria above. One of them: The name has been adopted at least by a significant section of the English-language media and it is recognizable. So it's not my personal opinion about the media.
I understand your stand, but the problem is about consistency. If you want to change the name into PSI Jakarta (but not FC Jakarta! unless that club has its official Englsih name), then you have to change all articles in WP EN, so it won't be confusing. And ask for other people's views, especially those with authority in this WP EN! I am just normal user.
But, for competition name, let's make it as Indonesia Super League, instead of Indonesian Super League. It's a name, shouldn't be changed. Liga Indonesia First Division might be translated to Liga Indoensia Division One (depends on how you translate "Divisi Satu" into English). Liga Indonesia stays as it is, like Bundesliga stays as is. Guybrush1979 (talk) 10:26, 28 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, I've raised this issue to WikiProject Football and Indonesia Portal talk page for discussion. Let's see if some decision can be made upon this. Guybrush1979 (talk) 21:59, 28 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Indonesia football

[edit]

Hi, I'm trying to add a section in the Jason de Jong article about his move to Indonesian football but I'm having a bit of a tough time since I don't understand Indonesian, even with online translations. Particularly with this source, [3], during his trials with Sriwijaya, it says something about a deadline on foreign players but there are two dates that are stated, 21 & 23 February. And it says something about the coach not liking naturalized players. Perhaps you could help me out to clarify what this article is saying. Thanks! Banana Fingers (talk) 20:46, 25 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, this article is basically saying that the coach Ivan Kolev doesn't like any of those 4 foreign players (including De Jong), while he is supposed to choose one of them before the transfer deadline (on 23rd). The management gives him time to choose 'til 21st. It's said also, if Kolev doesn't choose any player in the end, the management will do it. Guybrush1979 (talk) 01:14, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I've finished the section on his move to Indonesia. Thanks for the help! Banana Fingers (talk) 18:41, 26 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Logo LJI 09-10.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Logo LJI 09-10.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:07, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
