3033
Apparently the models of 3033 are more complicated - it looks like there were "derated" models as mentioned below. Also, there are the AP and MP models. I've seen references to a dx and maybe a gx model. Peter Flass (talk) 14:58, 10 February 2018 (UTC)
iOS
I'm not sure I get what you mean here. Hayman30 (talk) 05:07, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Hayman30: Perhaps I misread what you meant by "So are all these other pages? Revert me if I'm wrong." If "are" means "exist", as in "do all these other pages exist?", the answer is "yes, they do". If it means "have the characteristic of being something", as in "are all those things pages other than the iOS page", the answer is "yes, they are".
- Perhaps the dab page suffices for people searching for "ios" or "IOS" or "Ios" who weren't looking for Apple's iOS, but that's another matter, which depends not on whether the other pages exist, but on how likely it is that somebody will be searching for those pages in particular with just "ios" or other non-"iOS" capitalization. I'm not sure eyeOS is worthy of a hatnote there, as it may be pronounced the same as "iOS" but isn't spelled the same, although somebody may have just heard the name and thought it was spelled "IOS" or something such as that. The Cisco one might be worthy or might just be a leftover from the days when there was an "IOS" from Cisco but no "iOS" from Apple. Guy Harris (talk) 05:29, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
- Ugh, I was responding to the last summary. TU-nor said that "Ios (island)" was "already linked from IOS (disambiguation)," and I said: "So are all these other pages?" I'm trying to imply that those two other pages in the hatnote (eyeOS, Cisco IOS) are (also) already linked from IOS (disambiguation), so it wouldn't be necessary to put them in the hatnote. Hayman30 (talk) 05:37, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
- @Hayman30: It may not be strictly necessary, but there are occasions when some topics are deemed to be worthy of being listed directly in the hatnote even though they're also in the dab page. I'm not sure what the MOS has to say about what criteria should be used to decide what pages are worthy of being listed in the hatnote; I couldn't find anything immediately obvious. - Yeah I'm thinking there might be some sort of discussion happened in the past regarding whether those two pages should be placed in the hatnote, as they are also linked on eyeOS. Or, it might be because they're both operating systems/software which is closely related, but there's a lot of those under IOS (disambiguation)#Computing as well. I shall make a bold removal if you do not oppose, as I would assume (as everybody would) that people are generally looking for Apple's iOS, and they'll be able to find other "iOS"es on the disambiguation page. - @Hayman30: Go ahead; we can add back direct links if there's a lot of complaints and the other page is that significant. (Part of the problem is that "Ios" and "IOS" go to iOS, which is good if people are searching for that page but miscapitalize it or don't bother capitalizing it the way Apple does, but bad if somebody, for example, is looking for the Greek island and expects "Ios" to go there - then again, they might be searching for the Greek island with "ios", in which case they may just have to go complain to Apple for ruining their search. :-)) Guy Harris (talk) 06:58, 19 February 2018 (UTC)
