IBM 8750
Guy, thanks for editing IBM 8750 Switching System.
I and several hundred other IBMers across Europe were involved for periods from 1969 to the late 1980s with IBM's successful Switching Systems which were the first worldwide to have computer control of telephone line switching -- they were invented by brilliant French IBMers.
I have been trying to record that history in Wikipedia (I am now 76 years old).
Yesterday I created the page IBM 8750 Switching System --- I now see from the IBM documents that I have that the product name should be IBM 8750 Business Communication System. I now cannot see how to change the page title: do you know how to change it? If so, can you change it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Duncanogi (talk • contribs) 08:34, 3 August 2017 (UTC)
- @Duncanogi:"do you know how to change it?" Yes. See Wikipedia:Moving a page.
- "can you change it?" Yes, but practice makes perfect; try it yourself, first, so you'll know how to rename other pages if necessary. If you can't do it because you don't have an autoconfirmed account, let me know, and I'll move it for you. Guy Harris (talk) 17:20, 3 August 2017 (UTC)
Many thanks Guy: simple when you know how to do it. Done in one minute. Thanks again. (I have also made small relevant modifications in the French Wikipedia, as I worked there for 6 years)Duncanogi (talk) 09:39, 4 August 2017 (UTC).
